New King of Thorn Trailer

King of Thorn, which is released by TOKYOPOP in North America, is getting closer to its Japanese theatrical debut in May. The manga release, which the Young Adult Library Services Association listed as among the 10 best graphic novels for teens for 2008, is being adapted into this form by Kadokawa. The theatrical anime film is set to be be directed by Kazuyoshi Katayama with the script by Katayama and Hiroshi Yamaguchi. Character designs for it are by Hidenori Matsubara while the monsters are designed by Kenji Andou. The original manga work ran for six volumes and finished out in 2005, so the film is working from a completed idea with some likely modifications to be adapted to the big screen.

The original author, Yuji Iwahara, has had both his works translated for the North American market with King of Thorn and Chikyu Misaki. He also drew the art for Quest, a short-lived title in the Marvel Comics imprint Tsunami. He was also involved in creating the original character designs for Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha as well as being the artist on Darker Than Black - Shikkoku no Hana -, a new manga that started in 2009.

The first trailer came out back in the summer of 2009 with English text which will help contextualize the new trailer:
