PG-13 Deadpool Version Pushes Alita to 2019

See you next year ALITA!
Fox just made a slew of release date changes. Instead of opening Alita: Battle Angel on Dec. 21, she now goes on Feb. 14, 2019. Instead, Fox is releasing, what we hear, is a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 on Dec. 21. They’ve listed it as untitled Deadpool movie.

For Alita, it’s about the date, to have the first movie coming out of Chinese New Year, being day and date. The movie is in tip-top VFX shape and its delay has nothing to do with post-production. This leaves the Dec. 21 play period with Deadpool 2, Warners’ Aquaman, Paramount’s Bumblee, Sony’s Holmes and Watson, and Universal’s Welcome to Marwen.

Also, the next X-Men Dark Phoenix won’t open on Feb. 14 anymore, rather next summer in the June 7 slot. The trailer launched this week earning close to 8M YouTube views on Fox’s channel. Summer is not only a better date, but again, it gives the film a better shot to have a bigger opening in China. Why? The trailer clocked 44 million views in first 24 hrs of release online this week out of China.   Also, premium screens previously reserved for Gambit will be in play and provide an even bigger upside for the film. Dark Phoenix will be up against Illumination/Uni’s The Secret Life of Pets 2 and Lionsgate’s comedy Flarsky on that date.

Also Gambit moves out of next summer on June 7 to March 13, 2020. The pic is still in development with no director yet and Channing Tatum still attached. Reid Carolin and Joshua Zetumer were working on the script. Right now it’s the only studio tentpole on that date.

In regards to Deadpool 2, is there new footage? Fox staying mum, but Reynolds tweeted this out:

MFKZ - from the makers of Tekkonkinkreet

MFKZ is a new sci-fi action anime film from Guillaume "Run" Renard, the original creator of the Mutafukaz comic series, and Studio 4°C, the studio behind Batman: Gotham Knight and Tekkonkinkreet.

In theaters nationwide for TWO nights only: October 11 and 16!
A film by Guillaume “Run” Renard and Shojiro Nishimi

Genre-mashup MFKZ is the collaboration of French comic artist Guillaume “Run” Renard and ultra-hip Japanese animation house Studio 4°C, creators of Tekkonkinkreet, Genius Party and Mind Game. The Tekkonkinkreet dream team of Shojiro Nishimi and art director Shinji Kimura reunite to bring to life a dark but stunningly animated sci-fi vision that mixes anime, film noir, and Lucha Libre in an orgy of video game-inspired mayhem.
The film centers on young Angelino and his skull-and-flame pal Vinz, who live in a seedy tenement in an LA-inspired dystopian metropolis – a burnt-out, gang and cockroach-ridden neo-urban hell. Following a scooter accident Angelino starts experiencing migraines and strange hallucinations, as well as fits of rage-inspired superpowers, as he slowly awakens to the truth of his origins: he is half-human and half-Macho, a supernatural alien race that is bent on taking over the planet.

Rated R for bloody violence, language and some sexual content.

New trailer for "The Grinch"

Suessian Sight Gags Galore!
For their eighth fully animated feature, Illumination and Universal Pictures present The Grinch, based on Dr. Seuss’ beloved holiday classic. The Grinch tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. Funny, heartwarming and visually stunning, it’s a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism.

Academy Award® nominee Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to the infamous Grinch, who lives a solitary life inside a cave on Mt. Crumpet with only his loyal dog, Max, for company. With a cave rigged with inventions and contraptions for his day-to-day needs, the Grinch only sees his neighbors in Who-ville when he runs out of food.

Each year at Christmas they disrupt his tranquil solitude with their increasingly bigger, brighter and louder celebrations. When the Whos declare they are going to make Christmas three times bigger this year, the Grinch realizes there is only one way for him to gain some peace and quiet: he must steal Christmas. To do so, he decides he will pose as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, even going so far as to trap a lackadaisical misfit reindeer to pull his sleigh.

Find out, Christmas season 2018. In Theaters November 9.

Live-Action series Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatar: The Last Airbender
Live-Action Series Coming to NETFLIX
[Source: ToonZone] Netflix has announced that it has begun production on a live-action series based on Avatar: The Last Airbender, the hit Nickelodeon animated series. Co-creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino are both overseeing the new series, and issued a joint statement commenting on the previous live-action feature film adaptation directed by M. Night Shyamalan:

“We’re thrilled for the opportunity to helm this live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. We can’t wait to realize Aang’s world as cinematically as we always imagined it to be, and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to build upon everyone’s great work on the original animated series and go even deeper into the characters, story, action, and world-building. Netflix is wholly dedicated to manifesting our vision for this retelling, and we’re incredibly grateful to be partnering with them.”

The series comes on the wake of the premiere of the nine-episode animated series The Dragon Prince, a new series co-created by Avatar head writer Aaron Ehasz with Avatar alumnus Giancarlo Volpe joining as executive producer and director.

First Look at Brie Larson's 'Captain Marvel'

FIRST Look at Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Jude Law As Mar-Vell
[Source: Clevver News] The first look at Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has arrived!

Get ready to meet the newest hero in the MCU, who also happens to be Marvel’s most powerful The first look at Marvel’s newest superhero, Captain Marvel played by Brie Larson, has arrived. Larson graces the cover of Entertaiment Weekly in the iconic Captain Marvel super-suit, which should be a relief to those of us who were less than pleased after seeing those set pics of her in black and green and we were all like… uh, what? Sooooo… phew.

While the movie only hits theatres next March, fans can now see Captain Marvel in all her glory with EW releasing a number of pictures including her alongside Jude Law’s character, Mar-Vell, the Kree solider at the head of Starforce, an elite Kree military team, which Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers joins having decided to leave Earth and embrace her super-people.

Unlike a traditional origin story, Captain Marvel will begin with Carol Danvers already having her superpowers, but she’ll need help getting them under control, making Mar-vell a very important part of her story. Speaking about their dynamic, Jude Law revealed to EW QUOTE “These extraordinary powers she has, he sees them as something of a blessing and something that she has to learn how to control.” He also revealed that controlling one’s powers will be somewhat of a theme throughout the movie saying QUOTE “that’s a motif throughout the piece, the element of learning to control one’s emotions and to use your powers wisely.”

The two are pictured in what appears to be training outfits, which we obviously know will be a huge part of her story since Captain Marvel takes places as galactic alien warfare is unfolding on Earth. Aaaaaand Enter Captain Marvel to kick some alien butt.

And let’s just say, it’s about damn time. Brie Larson is the first female to fully LEAD a Marvel movie, while director Anna Boden is the first female director to helm an MCU film. Speaking about the character to EW, Brie Larson revealed QUOTE “She can be aggressive, and she can have a temper, and she can be a little invasive and in your face. She’s also quick to jump to things, which makes her amazing in battle because she’s the first one out there and doesn’t always wait for orders. But the [not] waiting for orders is, to some, a character flaw.”

Should be interesting to see just how this feistiness meshes with the rest of the Avengers when she meets the gang next May in the sequel to this year’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Now it’s time for you to weigh in with your thoughts on Captain Marvel! Is she everything you hoped for? Let us know if the comments section below and then you can click right here for another brand new video and be sure to subscribe for even more from Clevver. Thanks so much for watching, I’m Sinead de Vries, and I’ll see you guys next time.
