Bodacious Space Pirates - TV Anime

(Mōretsu Pirates)
An anime adaptation of Yuichi Sasamoto's Mini-Skirt Uchū Kaizoku (Mini-Skirt [Space] Pirates) space-opera novels was first revealed in 2009 for release this year. The television series was relaunched under the new Mōretsu Pirates title at Tokyo Anime Fair last year. Tetsuo Sato (Nadesico, Stellvia) is directing the project and overseeing the scripts. The story centers around a spirited high school girl named Marika. She keeps herself busy with the space yacht club and her part-time job at a high-class retro café. One day, two people suddenly appear and claim to be subordinates of her dead father. They demand that she assume command of the space pirate ship Benten Maru. A privateer ship's compact was made during a war of independence a century ago, and according to that compact, the ship must be inherited by the captain's next direct descendant. Marika finds herself embarking on a new life as a space pirate.

Sapphie later meets up with Rose and they become friends. She teaches her of the Dragon's coming of age ritual, namely a kiss on the dragon mark. Rose and Ryuji perform the rite only to have Rose become extremely conscious of Ryuji's presence (with the mere touch or sight of Ryuji sending waves of heat through her body) which in turn makes Ryuji conscious of her. 12:50 - 1:40  Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai 3-4
[Source: Wikipedia] A group of six childhood friends drift apart after one of them, Meiko "Menma" Honma, dies in an accident. Several years after the incident, the leader of the group, Jinta Yadomi, has withdrawn from society and lives as a recluse. One summer day, the ghost of an older looking Menma appears before him and asks to have a wish granted, reasoning that she cannot pass on into the afterlife until it is fulfilled. Since Menma does not remember what her wish is, Jinta gathers his estranged friends together once again, believing that they are the key to resolving this problem. However, hidden feelings, internal conflicts, and lingering feelings of bitterness from Menma's parents result in complications for the group as they struggle to help not only Menma move on, but more importantly, themselves as well.
Episode 03 "Menma Search Party": After being pestered by Menma, Jinta heads towards school, but changes his mind when faced with insults from Naruko's friends. He goes to see Tetsudō, who claims he saw Menma the previous night. Jinta arrives home where Menma had attempted to make muffins that Jinta's late mother used to make, though she claims she didn't go around Tetsudō's place the previous night. The next day, Tetsudō decides to hold a 'Menma Search Party' barbecue event for the others. When Atsumu eventually appears, he also claims to have seen Menma.
Episode 04  "The White Dress with a Ribbon": After Jinta keeps her from slipping in the same spot Menma died from, Naruko hints that he can probably see Menma because he loved her. Atsumu's claims of what Menma had told her differ from the real Menma's, so Jinta brings out the muffins that Menma made earlier, hoping to convey Menma's true feelings. The next day, Jinta is visited by Chiriko, who asks him to confront Atsumu about his 'fake Menma'. As the gang gets together that night, they appear to spot a Menma running around in the woods, which turns out to be Atsumu wearing a white sundress.

1:40 - 2:30    Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) 3-4
[Source: Wikipedia] Yukiteru "Yuki" Amano is a loner who never really interacts with people and prefers writing a diary on his cell phone with his only companion being an imaginary friend named Deus Ex Machina, the God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is real when he makes Yuki participate in a battle royal with eleven other people. Within this "Diary Game", the contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, with each diary having unique features that gives them both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to kill each other and survive until there is only one person standing, the winner becoming the new God of Time and Space. In order to survive, Yuki tries to find allies, with one of them being another diary user named Yuno Gasai, a girl who is madly in love with him. As the game continues, Yuki soon learns that not everyone can be trusted, not even Yuno, whose obsession to keep both of them alive no matter the cost terrifies him. Yet despite her faults, Yuki continues to trust Yuno since he manages to survive the game thanks to her. Originally, Yuki had no desire to win the game and stoop as low as the other contestants who either cheat, lie, manipulate or kill in order to win. However, that all changes when late in the game, Yuki's parents are killed. Yuki suffers a breakdown over his parents death until Yuno seduces and convinces him that if he becomes the new God of Time and Space, he can bring his parents back to life. Now having a reason to win, Yuki becomes a ruthless, backstabbing, and manipulative terrorist who causes the deaths of thousands of civilians and destruction throughout the city in order to kill the other contestants. Yuki's actions shock his friends, in particular Aru Akise, who had suspicions about Yuno and her motives. By the time Yuno and Yuki becomes the last contestants, Aru and the rest of Yuki's friends chastis him on how he has become just as bad as the other contestants. Aru tries to warn Yuki that Yuno is manipulating him and that she has an ulterior motive. Refusing to accept the truth and wishing to bring his parents back, Yuki kills them until Aru manages to stop him and gives Yuki a clue over Yuno's true identity before he is killed by Yuno herself. Eventually, Yuki learns that the Yuno he known is actually an "impostor" as this "Yuno" is actually from a parallel universe who won the Diary Game. In that universe, Yuno and Yuki were the last contestants and Yuki committed suicide so that Yuno will be the new God and resurrect him. But Yuno became distraught and more insane when she learns that while she can resurrect the dead, she cannot bring back their souls. With the help of Muru Muru, Deus' assistant and now Yuno's after she won the Diary game, both of them travel back in time to Yuki's universe and manipulated it where she killed the Yuno of Yuki's universe and took her place so she could play the game again and find a way to bring back "her" Yuki. As Yuno is about to kill him, Yuki is saved by Minene Uryu, one of his allies and another Diary user who he believed died in the game but was saved by Deus, who had suspicions that the Muru Muru in his universe is not the one he knows but the one from the parallel universe working with Yuno, and gave Minene some of his powers before his death. Their plans foiled, Yuno and Muru Muru travel to another universe to start over again but are followed by Yuki and Minene who are trying to stop them. Finally, Yuno and Muru Muru are stopped when the former learns in this new universe, all the terrible things that happen to everyone in the previous universes never happen including one where her parents were never abusive and lead to her insanity. With Yuno's Muru Muru stopped by Yuki's universe's Muru Muru and the help of the new universe's Diary users, Yuki convinces Yuno to come to her senses and surrender as he loves her. Realizing her mistakes, Yuno instead kills herself, believing this is the best for him and making Yuki the new God of his universe. In the end, despite becoming the new God of Time and Space, Yuki refuses to rule his universe as he has lost everything that he ever loved and cared; his friends, parents and Yuno. But in an unexpected Deus ex machina, the Yuno of the new universe arrives and invites Yuki to her universe as Yuki's Muru Muru had given Yuno and the others of the new universe their other universes memories which convinced that universe's Deus not to hold the Diary game and instead make Yuki and Yuno his new heirs. The series ends with Yuki reuniting with Yuno, his friends, parents and the Diary users in a new, happier universe.
Episode 03  "Early Predicament": Keigo sends Yuki and Yuno to an amusement park to act as bait for Uryu. When Yuki asks Yuno why she keeps following him around, she reminds him of the day they met, one year ago. Yuki was depressed over his parents' divorce and, to cheer him up, Yuno offered to marry him in the future. Yuki agreed, thinking it was a joke. Although Yuki realises Yuno's still hiding something from him, she refuses to divulge anything more. That night, Yuno invites Yuki to stop by her house. While searching for the bathroom, he opens the door to a room containing many decomposed corpses, an act which changes the future of every Future Diary owner drastically. Terrified, Yuki runs home, only to find Yuno right outside his door. Meanwhile, Uryu finds evading the police difficult, despite her diary's ability to secure escape routes. Exhausted and cornered, she is approached by a mysterious man, who offers to save her and takes her to a hut in the woods. There, he reveals himself as a Future Diary owner, drugging her and torturing her to get information on other diary owners.
Episode 04  "Handwritten Input": Yuki is unable to tell anyone about the corpses he saw in Yuno's house, fearing she will find out through her diary. The next day, Keigo, Yuki and Yuno visit the Sacred Eye cult, where Uryu is being held prisoner. The cult's leader, Tsubaki Kasugano, is the holder of the Clairvoyance Diary, a scroll which tells the future as seen by her followers and has foretold her death by the end of the day. Since Yuki has already evaded death twice, Tsubaki asks that he stay with her for the night in exchange for handing over Uryu which he accepts, much to Yuno's resentment. At night, Tsubaki's followers fall under the mind control of Yomotsu Hirasaka, the diary holder who captured Uryu and close in on Yuki, Yuno and Tsubaki. Yuno starts hacking at the followers with an axe and poses an ultimatum to Yuki: join her or die.

2:30 - 3:20    Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing 1-2
[Source: Wikipedia] Taking place two years after the events of Last Exile, Last Exile: Fam, The Silver Wing is set on Earth, the original home world of the colonists of Prester. The new story focuses on Fam Fan Fan and Giselle Collette, two vespa pilots who work as Sky Pirates where they capture and sell battleships for a living. Fam and Giselle get into an adventure when they and the Sky Pirates rescue the Princesses of the Turan Kingdom, Liliana il Grazioso Merlo Turan and her younger sister, Millia Il Velch Cutrettola Turan, from the clutches of mighty Ades Federation. Led by Empress Sārā Augusta and Premier Luscinia Hāfez, the Ades Federation is on an all out war against the nations who are descendants of immigrants who came back to Earth by Exile ships. As Ades was the only nation to stay on Earth when the planet was in state of chaos and ruined, Luscinia believes the immigrants of Exile have no right to return to Earth since their ancestors abandoned Earth when it was in chaos only to return when Earth was viable to live on again and force the original inhabitants of Earth off their lands to form their own nations. To return these lands to their original inhabitants, Luscinia leads the Ades Federation to conquer the immigrant nations and destroy their armies with Turan being one of them. After Luscinia kidnaps Liliana, who has the ability to control an Exile, Luscinia summons an Exile to destroy the capital of Turan, killing its soldiers and the King of Turan, leading to Turan surrendering to Ades. With everything she cared for lost, Millia is given refuge by the Sky Pirates where Fam promises to help Millia regain her kingdom.
Episode 01  "Open File": Fam Fan Fan and Giselle Collette are Sky Pirates who ride smaller vanships called Vespas where they capture battleships with other Sky pirates led by Giselle's father, Atamora, with Dio also a member as well. Meanwhile at the Grand Lake, the Princesses of the Kingdom of Turan, Liliana il Grazioso Merlo Turan and her younger sister, Millia il Velch Cutrettola Turan, are preparing for a peace treaty with the powerful Ades Federation led by Premier Luscinia Hāfez, Liliana childhood friend. However, the peace treaty is a ruse to capture the princesses which the larger Ades fleet attacks the unprepared Turan fleet. The Sky Pirates learn of the attack and head to the Grand Lake where Fam offers to rescue the Princesses in exchange they surrender their flagship Lasas to them which Liliana agrees much to Millia's shock. Thanks to Fam and the Sky Pirates, the Ades fleet is tricked into shooting each other due to smokescreens and faked light signals and the fleet is fooled into believing the Lasas has sunken. Now under the safety of the Sky Pirates, Liliana orders to head back to the Turin capital Iglasia to prepare for Luscinia's next attack.
Episode 02  "Fool's Mate": Liliana forms an alliance with Atamora's Sky Pirates in helping the Turan fleet against the invading Ades fleet while she has Fam and Giselle escort Millia back to Iglasia who is holding battle plans for their father, the King of Turan. Liliana plans to use the Lasas in a surprise attack to scuttle Luscinia's flagship, the Impetus which will cause a disarray within the Ades fleet. With the civilians fleeing Iglasia, the King asks Fam and Giselle to send Millia to the Imperial villa in the East for her safety. As the Ades and Turan fleets battle, Liliana acts out her plan but it fails when Luscinia's assistant Alauda boards the Lasas, kills the crew and kidnaps Liliana. Learning of her sister's abduction from Dio, Millia begs Fam to go to the Impetus and rescue Liliana. With Dio acting as a decoy, Fam, Giselle and Millia sneaks inside the Impetus and confronts Luscinia in the command center. Instead, Luscinia tells them the history of their planet Earth, the Exile ships and the people who boarded them. Liliana begs Luscinia to stop the war as she's willing to surrender but Luscinia won't change his mind for his vision of peace. Luscinia recites a Mysteria which sends Liliana into a trance and surrounded by light, forcing Fam, Giselle and Millia to escape. When a beam of light from Liliana hits one of the planet's moons, it drops down to Iglasia to reveal it is an Exile ship and destroys Iglasia, killing everyone there including the King. By the time Fam and Giselle wake up after crashing their Vespa, Fam finds Millia mortified seeing Iglasia destroyed and blood flowing from the capital into the sea.

3:20 - 3:45   Fate/Zero 1
[Source: Wikipedia] Fate/zero takes place 10 years prior to the events of Fate/stay night, detailing the events of the 4th Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City.[1] The War of the Holy Grail is a contest in which seven magi summon seven Heroic Spirits to compete to obtain the power of the "Holy Grail," which grants a miracle. After three inconclusive wars for the elusive Holy Grail, the Fourth War commences. Founded by the Einzbern, Matō, and Tōsaka families centuries ago, the Einzbern family is determined to achieve success after three successive failures, no matter the cost. As a result, they have elected to bring the hated magus killer, Kiritsugu Emiya, into their ranks, despite his methods and reputation as a skilled mercenary and a hitman who employs whatever he can use to accomplish his goals. Though Kiritsugu had once wanted to become a hero who could save everyone, he has long since abandoned this ideal upon realizing that saving one person comes at the cost of another's life. For the sake of humanity, he will ruthlessly destroy anything and anyone who threatens the peace of others. However, Kiritsugu finds himself deeply torn between the love he has found for his new family - his wife Irisviel and their daughter Illya - and what he must do to obtain the Holy Grail. Meanwhile, Kiritsugu's greatest opponent appears in the form of Kirei Kotomine, a priest who cannot find any sense of fulfillment in his life and sets his sights on Kiritsugu as the possible answer to the emptiness he feels.
Episode 01  "Summoning Ancient Heroes": Eight years ago in Germany, Kiritsugu Emiya and his wife, Irisviel von Einzbern, welcome the birth of their daughter, Illyasviel. Though Kiritsugu fears he will lead Irisviel to her death with the upcoming Fourth Holy Grail War, Iri assures him that he is a good man who will end his torment and fulfill their ideals. Three years ago, the priest Kirei Kotomine learns that he has been chosen as a participant for the Holy Grail War; his father Risei, the war's moderator on behalf of the Catholic Church, and another participant, Tokiomi Tosaka arrange for Kirei to become Tokiomi's pupil in magecraft in order to give Tokiomi an advantage and help Kirei get over the death of his wife. One year ago in Fuyuki City, Kariya Matō visits his childhood friend Aoi Tōsaka and her daughters, Rin and Sakura, but he is shocked to learn Sakura has been adopted by the Matō family as the Matōs want a heir that uses magic and is horrified to discover on what has been done to her. Confronting his father, Zōken, Kariya strikes a deal to become a mage in the upcoming war and win the grail in order to free Sakura and return her to her mother and sister by having his body implanted with parasitic worms that give him magic. In the present, at the London Clock Tower, Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi dismisses and humiliates a thesis by one of his students, Waver Velvet, who theorizes anyone can be great mage by hard work and practice other than by their bloodline. Angered by the humiliation, Waver decides to prove his teacher wrong by also joining the Grail War by stealing Kayneth's artifact which is needed to summon a Servant and heads to Fuyuki City. As Kirei, who has now summoned his servant Assassin, Hassan-i Sabbah, and Kiritsugu learn of each other's skills, they are disturbed by how they cannot know what the other man's goals for the war are. After receiving the scabbard of Excalibur, Iri is now hopeful that they can now summon King Arthur of the Saber class but Kiritsugu worries that Arthur's chivalry will clash with his pragmatic methods. As Kiritsugu, Tokiomi, Kariya and Waver summoned their servants, Kiritsugu and Iri are stunned to see the summoned King Arthur is actually a girl.

5:15 - 6:05    Gosick 16-17
[Source: Wikipedia] Gosick takes place in 1924 in a small, French-speaking fictional European country of Sauville. The story centers on Kazuya Kujo, the third son of a Japanese Imperial soldier, who is a transfer student to St. Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. There he meets Victorique, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl who never comes to class and spends her days reading the entire content of the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can't solve. The series mostly focuses on Kazuya and Victorique getting involved in different mystery cases and their struggle to solve them, at the same time forming important bonds with different people.
