Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You

Plot Summary:

Sasaki, an overworked salaryman, finds a release of his daily tensions in the customer service of Yamada, a winsome, cheery supermarket cashier. One day, he finds himself working late, and, finding Yamada already done with work for the day, goes for a smoke. He sees a mysterious woman, "Tayama", who invites him to the smoking area behind the store.

Plot Summary:

Jiro Azuma is a teenage punk, trained in the art of the ninja, who has the incredible ability to talk to animals. Despite this, he was constantly bullied as a child for talking to animals; he could only find solace with other animals, such as his dog Nachi. One day, Jiro is led into the woods by some birds and encounters a gravely injured cat. He nurses the cat back to health, and the cat is shocked to find out that Jiro can understand him. The cat reveals himself as Rago of the Black Star of Doom, an immortal mononoke, or evil spirit. He reveals that he was attacked by other mononoke for refusing to help them. Later that night, Rago attempts to escape from Jiro's house, but they are attacked by one of the mononoke Rago encountered earlier. This mononoke kills Jiro by stabbing him through the chest with his immense claws. Feeling pity and indebted to Jiro for saving him earlier, Rago fuses with Jiro to give him a second chance at life. With their combined power, they kill the mononoke, but are then taken into custody by the Bureau of Espionage. The two later join the Bureau to stop more mononoke in the future.

Plot Summary:  

The story begins in 1213 in Tus, Persia, where a young girl named Sitara is sold into slavery after losing her mother. She is taken in by Fatima, a kind-hearted woman from a family of scholars. Initially resistant to learning, Sitara discovers the value of knowledge under the guidance of Fatima’s son, Muhammad. Years later, the Mongol army led by Tolui, the fourth prince of the Mongol Empire, invades Tus, killing Sitara’s master and destroying the city. Captured and taken to Mongolia, Sitara adopts the name Fatima and begins plotting revenge against the Mongols, aiming to recover a treasured book called Elements that was stolen during the invasion. The story explores her journey from a slave to a figure whose intelligence and strategic thinking influence the Mongol court.

Plot Summary:  

In an alternate version of the early 20th century where technological progress evolved along a different path shaped by steam power, Kyoto is blanketed in constant smoke. A deeply devout girl hides her dreams and regrets for her deceased mother deep within her heart. When the two cross paths, they set about exploring the secrets of the 20th Century Electrical Catalog, a glimpse into the future they long for. Together, they must confront their pasts and carve a path toward the future they once believed in.

Lara, a mermaid princess who is beloved by her father, the Sea King, and her sisters, enters into a forbidden love with a human prince and aspires to live with him on land. She drinks a potion created by Grace to become a human, only to be tricked into drinking a potion that turns her into bubbles. She vanishes into the sea and would only be reborn if she finds true love. Two hundred years later, Lara is resurrected in Lake Biwa, and she sets out to find her true love.

Plot Summary:   

Set in Japan in 2029, Motoko Kusanagi is a cyborg who leads an elite combat unit that includes fellow cyborg Batou. In a world connected by vast information networks, where cybernetic enhancement has increasingly blurred the distinction between humans and machines, Kusanagi seeks to establish a specialized force capable of responding proactively to emerging technological and security threats. At the same time, Daisuke Aramaki of the Ministry of Home Affairs is planning a similar organization and recruits Kusanagi and her team. Together, they form Public Security Section 9, an aggressive tactical unit that investigates cybercrime and terrorism. Their operations eventually draw them toward a mysterious unidentified hacker known as the Puppet Master, who can infiltrate cybernetic minds and manipulate people as unwitting agents.
