The Animatrix Network is an anime & manga fan club located in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. We usually meet on the third Saturday of each month (except when holidays or conventions coincide). The meetings are free and open to the public. Join us for a day filled with anime.

Stirring Superhero Silhouettes

  • Where the Past and Present Meet...
  • San Francisco artist and illustrator Khoa Ho captures the founding essence of heroic characters caught between the shades and shadows of their lives in this striking series of images. Ho takes the stark silhouettes of Batman, Superman, Wolverine, Iron Man, Spider-Man and the Flash, reduces each icon to a simple archetype, then melds them with the defining incidents of their past, revealing how they're inextricably linked to the complexities of their present selves. Here's what the artist had to say about his compelling concept:
  • In this poster series I took a dive into the origins of these individuals and who they were before they became superheroes to remind us that despite the trials of our past, what we choose to do moving forward is much more important to us and the world we share.
