10:15 - 11:05    Noragami 11-12
Plot Summary: [Source: Wikipedia] Noragami literally means "Stray God." Hiyori Iki was a regular middle school student until she gets hit by a bus in order to save Yato's life. This incident causes her to transform into a half-phantom. Soon after she learns that Yato is a war god, and her life is never the same again.
Episode 11 "Abandoned God": As Yato and Yukine try to figure out how to restore Hiyori's memories, they are confronted by Nora, who reveals she had stolen Hiyori's memory of Yato and has become Furuhime, regalia of Rabo, who attacks Yato in an attempt to awaken some repressed memories. As Yato finds himself unable to beat Rabo and Furuhime, the two take their leave, with Furuhime stating she will return Hiyori's memory if Yato can defeat Rabo. It is revealed that Rabo is a calamity god, a god who answers malicious wishes to kill people, phantoms, and gods, who once worked alongside Yato, who was also a calamity god himself. As Yato becomes conflicted over whether restoring Hiyori's memory is the right thing to do, Yukine shows Hiyori a picture book detailing the times they have spent together. Meanwhile, Furuhime reveals that Hiyori's memory is further waning, shown when she loses her memory of Yukine, and will leave her as an empty vessel if nothing is done. Despite knowing the risks involved, Yato and Yukine resolve to restore Hiyori's memory.
Episode 12 "Scrap of a Memory": Yato and Yukine warp over to Rabo's shrine, mistakenly dragging Hiyori along with them. Yato immediately engages Rabo and Furuhime, only to be easily fended off and taken prisoner by a spell of Rabo's which enshrouds the victim in a sphere of water. Hiyori manages to pull Yato out, allowing the fight to resume. Unsatisfied with Yato's performance, Rabo decides to destroy the jewel-like sphere containing Hiyori's stolen memories, causing her to fall unconscious. Angered by this, Yato appears to awaken to his former self as a god of calamity, and easily kicks Rabo into the stone cliff surrounding the site. Having seen that Yato had returned to his old self, Rabo absorbs the storm which had been raging from above, thus merging with its phantoms. An exchange between the two causes boulders to loosen, one of which heads directly for Hiyori. Yato saves her just in time, and holds her tightly to his body in a protective gesture. Hiyori's memories are awakened by his scent, and she returns to consciousness. Realizing he has to get rid of Hiyori, Rabo takes hold of her, but is finished off by Yato and Yukine with a move used for cleansing phantoms. As the three make their way back home, Hiyori tells Yato and Yukine that she never wants to sever her ties with them.

11:05 - 11:55     Nagi no Asukara - "A Lull in the Sea" (Episodes 10-11)

This is about their lives as they adjust to a new environment and the relationships with each other.

To avoid this fate, the people undersea will enter into hibernation and the villagers will gather for a banquet on friday, entering into a fasting period after that until the hibernation begins. Believing that the only way to please the Sea God and prevent this catastrophe is to perform the Ofunehiki, Hikari convinces Uroko to let him and his friends go to school until the time for their hibernation and they revew their effort to make it happen. During the banquet, Manaka is distraught upon the current situation and when she finally finds a sea slug with a red belly, she makes a wish for it. In the next day, Kaname approaches Chisaki and confesses his feelings for her.
Episode 11 "The Changing Times": After Kaname's confession, he and Chisaki accompany their friends to school as if nothing had happened. After their fast begins, the people of Shioshishio's Ena gets thicker in preparation for their hibernation, thus the children need to ressuply it with water more frequently while on surface. Fearing that they might never see their friends again after their sleep begins, Hikari and the others start eating again to delay the process. Meanwhile, Akari and Itaru make plans for their marriage while the fishermen asks Hikari to help them perform the Ofunehiki to please the Sea God and stop the cold. However, Iroko claims that their efforts at that point are futile but Hikari insists that they must do something. Assisted by the rest of the city, the children make their preparations for the ritual, but apparently it will happen in the same day the sea dwellers will start their hibernation. 2:15 - 3:05    Knights of Sidonia
Plot Summary: [Source: Wikipedia] The story is set in a distant future, a thousand years after humans flee from Earth, after it was destroyed by shapeshifting gigantic alien monsters called Gauna, aboard massive spaceships created from the remains of the planet. One of said ships is Sidonia, which has developed its own human culture closely based on that of Japan where human cloning, asexual reproduction, human engineering such as human photosynthesis are commonplace. With a population of over 500,000 people, Sidonia is arguably the last human settlement remaining as the fates of the other ships are unknown. Little is known about the true nature of the Gauna or their reasons to attack mankind. Each Gauna has its core protected by a huge mass of an almost impregnable material known as the "placenta", most commonly called "Ena," and once the placenta is shed away and the core is wounded beyond repair, the Gauna's body disintegrates. Sidonia is defended by large mechanized weapons called Gardes whose weaponry and mobility is powered by "Heiges particles", armed with a high output cannon for long range assaults and a special spear known as "Kabizashi" for close combat, which is made of an elusive material that can easily destroy a Gauna's core. Later the Guardians are also equipped with firearms whose ammo have the same material of the Kabizashi after a means to artificially mass-produce it is discovered. Most people in the surviving human population are screened and drafted as Guardian pilots at a young age, if they are shown to be capable of piloting them.

After transforming, Usagi hears a plea from Naru, whose mother had been replaced by a monster named Morga who was using the discounted jewelry to drain energy from those who bought them. Calling herself "Sailor Moon," Usagi confronts Morga but the monster orders the possessed girls who had bought jewelry from her to attack her. The Sailor Guardian's cries of anguish turn into ultrasonic waves and render the possessed girls unconscious. For some of the original cast, this is their first appearance in an Alien video game. Seeing them reprise those roles after 35 years was an unforgettable experience.”

Anyone who pre-orders the game will get a free upgrade to the Nostromo Edition, which includes the bonus content “Crew Expendable”. Leaked Star Wars Episode VII Filmset Footage!

Well, not really...
[By Frank Wunderlich] Looks like part of the story of Star Wars takes place on Earth in the next Episode. I took these pictures on my flight back from the States to Germany at the Frankfurt Airport. Seems like the biggest German airport plays a key role as an imperial starport in the new episode -- there are Imperial forces at the scene.

Are there Rebels in Berlin?

First Look at Superman from the Upcoming Sequel

Though most of the attention has been placed on Ben Affleck’s rebooted Bruce Wayne, whom director Zack Snyder described as “a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys” in an interview with USA Today, this is still technically a sequel to Man of Steel.

To that end, Snyder said he’s had a good time trying to figure out obstacles to put in front of Superman so they can “push him around a little bit,” and praised Henry Cavill’s performance. Snyder also admitted he was in “no rush” to add Batman to the film, but after looking at their long-term arc, decided it “seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in.” Fair enough.

Snyder also finally took a shot at trying to explain that bizarre “v” in the film’s title, which is more akin to a court case than an actual “vs.” symbol. It’s apparently not a typo. Snyder explains it was a deliberate decision to “keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way.”

When Marnie Was There
Studio Ghibli has a new film set to hit theaters in Japan later this summer, and the first trailer has been released.

The film is WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE, based on the book by Joan G. Robinson. It tells the story of a lonely girl who finds solice and companionship in an unusual friend - a freind who happens to be a ghost.

Much like the trailer for THE WIND RISES, this one also shows a series of clips set to music, but doesn't do much in the way of revealing plot details. The overall tone of the footage is decidedly wistful, as we see a lonely girl find comfort in a friend.

The film is being directed by Yonebayashi Hiromasa (THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETY), from a script written by Niwa Keiko (FROM UP ON POPPY HILL). It is set to open in Japan in July, and we don't have word on a U.S. release date at this point.
