The Animated Adventures of Indiana Jones

The Adventures of Indiana Jones
Artist Patrick Schoenmaker has spent his free time over the past five years putting together a concept trailer for a nonexistent animated series based on Indiana Jones. He’s finally finished, and we’re happy to report it was definitely worth the wait.

This animated version of Indy goes on a globetrotting adventure, facing off against everything from Nazis to ancient tribes to the love of his life (and even a classroom full of students). He positively nails the action and vibe (it almost has a Jonny Quest type of feel), and it’s all tied together with the John Williams score you’ve almost certainly come to expect. Schoenmaker has named the project simply The Adventures of Indiana Jones, and it lives up to the billing.

Famous archaeologist Dr. Indiana Jones is on a quest of a lifetime, but this time he is fully animated in this passion project by life long fan and artist Patrick Schoenmaker. Over the course of 5 years, he has crafted the opening sequence of what would be the tv series to make all other tv shows redundant: "The Adventures of Indiana Jones"!

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.

This anime film about a bullied deaf girl has an emotional new trailer

Mune: The Guardian of the Moon

MUNE: The Guardian of the Moon
Mune: Guardian of the Moon (French: Mune, le gardien de la lune) is a 2014 French 3D computer-animated adventure fantasy film directed by Benoît Philippon and Alexandre Heboyan and written by Jérôme Fansten and Benoît Philippon. Set it an imaginary world, this poetic tale tells the adventure of a small creature who must recover the Sun that was stolen by his fault. The film was made in computer graphics and 3D stereoscopy, and features the voices of Michael Gregorio, Omar Sy and Izïa Higelin.[3] The film premiered at Forum des images on 6 December 2014 and was theatrically released in France on 14 October 2015.

"When a faun named Mune becomes the Guardian of the Moon, little did he had unprepared experience with the Moon, and an accident that could put both the Moon and the Sun in danger, including a corrupt titan named Necross who wants the Sun for himself and placing the balance of night and day in great peril. Now with the help of a wax-child named Glim and the warrior, Sohone who also became the Sun Guardian, they go out on an exciting journey to get the Sun back and restore the Moon to their rightful place in the sky."

In an imaginary world, a small Sun and Moon were made by the first Guardians to warm up a small planet inhabited by different marvelous people. The first Guardian of the Sun harpooned a star to keep it close to the planet, and hung it by chains to a mobile temple that is like a huge quadruped animal made of rock. The first Guardian of the Moon descended into the world of dreams and carved the Moon in a quarry of oneiric stones, and threw it into the sky. Since then, the Guardians follow generation after generation and preserve the harmony of the world. The people of the day and those of the night live in relative harmony, even though they are very different from each other. But in the depth of the planet, Necross awaits the opportunity to set darkness over the world.

The day is approaching when Sohone, the apprentice of Xolal, Guardian of the Sun and Leeyoon, the apprentice of the Guardian of the Moon will take over from their respective predecessors who are too old to carry out their tasks. On the day of their introduction, a young girl named Glim, who lives with her father at the border of day and night, comes to watch the introduction ceremony among the crowd. The light of the Sun accepts Sohone as planned, and he proudly parades in front of the girls. Leeyoon however is avoided by the lunar ewe that is responsible for choosing the Guardians. The ewe choses Mune instead, a carefree and shy little faun who is good at soothing people's dreams. On the following night an upset Leeyoon is visited by pale snakes who stir up his jealousy and advise him to pit Sohone against Mune. Meanwhile, Mune has troubles maneuvering the temple of the Moon correctly: the temple leaves its path and interferes with Sohone. But while Sohone leaves his temple to scold Mune, Necross sends his two imps to steal the Sun and bring it to him. Necross makes the Sun die off gradually. Night falls everywhere, plunging everyone into fear. A distressed Mune is banished from his own people, but he promises to fix his mistake. Sohone is not in a good place either, because it was his own absence that allowed the imps to steal the Sun.

They both set out on a quest to find the vanished Sun, accompanied by Glim. The latter is the most fragile of the three (her body of wax congeals when it gets too cold and is in danger of melting when it is too hot) but she is also the most educated, because she knows astronomy and has read the ancient stories of the world. Thanks to her, the group is able to pass the Great Blue Hole, a lake under which the great abyss opens that leads to the depths of the world. Glim is afraid that she will freeze and break in the cold water, but Mune comforts her and watches over her statue during the dive. After a few frights with an octopus, the group meets Phospho, an old Guardian of the Moon. He wakes Glim up and leads them to the entrance of the world of darkness, where Necross lives. Phospho tells them is story: Necross is an old Guardian of the Sun who attempted to keep the Sun for himself and who was hurled to the bottom of the world by Xolal, the predecessor of Sohone. But Phoshop gets angry and leaves them when Glim sheds light on his lies about his true role in the story for the world: Phospho, not as brave as he claimed, cowardly hid himself when Necross tried to capture the Sun.

Meanwhile, Leeyoon takes Mune's place in the temple of the Moon, but he can't control the temple. Under his watch, the Moon wanes and crumbles into dust. Deprived of its star, the temple goes mad and starts galloping everywhere. It ends up arriving in the underworld where Mune, Sohone, and Glim are. Mune, accompanied by Glim, takes care of the Moon while Sohone dives into the world of darkness to recover the Sun. Mune figures out that he can calm the temple of the Moon by using his sandman powers. Then, Leeyoon admits to him that the Moon is lost, but Mune decides to descend into the world of dreams to carve a new one. In the world of dreams, Mune and Glim are confronted by nightmares, Mune however dispels them with his powers. The two find the moon quarry and Mune carves a new crescent. Mune and Glim grow closer to each other and they realise they are in love, but they must launch the new Moon.

With this task done, Mune and Glim rejoin Sohone in the world of darkness. During this time, Sohone is surrounded by a mass of pale snakes who make fun of him and try to make him go mad with hatred, as Necross had done in the past. Sohone is saved by Phospho's intervention, who sacrifices himself to calm and free Sohone. Sohone, Mune and Glim then confront Necross and his imps. Sohone is going strongly against Necross, who he doesn't manage to weaken. Mune finally gets rid of one of the imps. Glim is not threatened by the other imp, called Spleen, who doesn't want to do evil and prefers to discuss gardening with her. Glim finds the Sun and blows on it to revive its fire, but that causes her to melt. Mune finally comes up with a way to defeat Necross: he sends him to sleep with his powers. In the world of dreams, Mune realises that Necross is influenced by a pale snake, which he then pulls out and crushes. Necross regains his Guardian of the Sun appearance he had before getting corrupted by envy.

Upon awakening, Mune finds that the world is now peaceful. The two young Guardians can resume the normal trajectories of their temples. However, Mune is saddened by Glim's death. He resculpts her and gives her a fragment of the Moon, but she doesn't revive so he leaves in tears. To his joy, the combined energy of the Sun and the Moon at daybreak allows Glim to wake up. Mune and Glim meet up and kiss each other before going around the world on the temple of the Moon.

Celebrate STAR TREK's 50th Anniversary

50 YEARS of STAR TREK
Cast members from all five “Star Trek” shows celebrated the franchise’s milestone anniversary on social media Thursday.

Fifty years ago today, the very first episode of the original “Star Trek” series — “The Man Trap” — debuted on TV. The 1996 Variety review predicted the show’s demise, “The opener won’t open up many new frequencies after this sampler.”

How wrong the reviewer was.

Five decades after the debut, the franchise is still going strong, with a sixth show coming in 2017 and a 14th movie planned (following this summer’s “Star Trek Beyond”).

New 'Star Wars: Rebels' Season 3 Trailer

New REBELS Trailer Finally
Kills The Expanded Universe
[Source: YahooNews] Now that Thrawn is to be reintroduced into the canon in Star Wars Rebels Season 3, we can finally declare the Star Wars expanded universe dead, once and for all. And let us never mention the Yuuzhan Vong again.

On April 25, 2014, Disney delivered the killing blow, reducing all Star Wars Expanded Universe material to a fiction’s fiction called Star Wars Legends. The move was not received well by a segment of Star Wars fandom, who insist there are diamonds in those non-canonical hills. The most often cited asset in the expanded universe must be Grand Admiral Thrawn, the main enemy of the New Republic in the years after Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.

Introduced in Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire, Thrawn attempted to destroy the new galactic government with the help of a pompous, dark Jedi clone and loads of ysalamiri: dumbass lizards with the power to suppress the Force. It is approximately as stupid as it sounds, but Thrawn himself was engaging: a master tactician whose cold calculations contrasted with the passions and personal animosities that steered Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine through the Star Wars movies. Thrawn was the bad guy Grand Moff Tarkin could’ve been, if he had only evacuated the Death Star in time.

Star Wars Rebels will make Thrawn canon once more. Check out this Thrawn-centric teaser trailer for Rebels Season 3:

Watch the season premiere of Star Wars Rebels on Saturday, September 24, at 8:30 p.m. PT/ET on Disney XD!

This anime-style film is made with marionettes

THUNDERBOLT  FANTASY
The anime style is so distinct and so over-the-top that you’d think it could only be done properly with animation. But this short film proves that, with a little creativity, you can break through expectations.

Set in an Eastern fantasy setting, Dān Fěi and her brother, guardians of a sword known as the Tiān Xíng Jiàn, are pursued by the evil Xuán Guǐ Zōng clan, who seek to obtain the sword for their master, Miè Tiān Hái. While her brother is defeated, Fěi, who possesses the sword's crossguard, manages to escape off a cliff.

Max Steel - Trailer

M A X   S T E E L
Mattel's live-action superhero movie
It’s a family, coming-of-age superhero movie with some comedy elements. One of the things that people will love about the movie is the relationship between Max and Steel, the little floating alien dude. It has a buddy comedy vibe to it, the heart and the banter of the film. But ultimately it’s an origin story for this Mattel brand that is about a superhero that is literally the combination of an alien and a teenager.

Based on a toy and animated series, the film chronicles the adventures of 16-year old Max McGrath (Winchell) and alien companion Steel, who must harness and combine their tremendous new powers to evolve into the turbo-charged superhero Max Steel. As these two unlikely friends struggle to accept their oddly connected fates, they begin to uncover unimaginable secrets, working together to find the truth, and fighting the mysterious forces threatening their world.

Max Steel is set to blast into movie theaters on October 21.

Who will be in the New Mutants movie?

T H E   N E W   M U T A N T S
[Source: Nerdist] Fox is getting another step closer to bringing X-Men spin-off The New Mutants to the big screen, after The Hollywood Reporter announced that Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber—the writing duo behind the hit YA adaptations The Fault in Our Stars and The Spectacular Now—are reuniting with director Josh Boone to write the script for this latest expansion of the X-Men franchise. And what’s even better? The line-up of mutants they’ve secured.

According to the original report, the New Mutants line-up for this movie includes, “Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball, and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix will be an alien named Warlock.” That is a pretty classic New Mutants line-up, from their comic book heyday in the 1980s.
Missing from this line-up is Karma (who was one of the first members to leave the team), Magma, and Cypher, whose ability to read and understand any language is pretty useless in any action movie (and got the character killed off pretty fast on one of their early missions). To most fans though, the announced characters would be considered the core New Mutants team.

What isn’t explicitly mentioned is whether or not Professor X will be included—although it would be hard to imagine a New Mutants film working without him. Thankfully, Simon Kinberg recently said Xavier is indeed going to be in it (and he would know, as he will produce this one as he has the past several Mutant films).

The question then becomes “which Charles Xavier are we getting?” If the movie is set in the ’80s or ’90s, I suppose they could use James McAvoy. But if it’s set in the modern day, then Patrick Stewart would make more sense. I suppose that particular casting announcement is still a ways off.

New Mutants still doesn’t have a release date, although there a few “Mystery Marvel” release dates from Fox up for grabs over the next few years that they could take. And at the moment, it’s not looking likely that any of them are going to be Gambit or Fantastic Four 2.

Stranger Things Season Two Trailer

STRANGER THINGS - SEASON TWO
A love letter to the supernatural classics of the '80s, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

Netflix’s retro sci-fi series, Stranger Things, has got everyone talking lately. If you haven’t watched it yet, you are seriously missing out because it is AMAZING and actually pretty scary. The cast includes a-ton of extremely talented kids, but 12-year old actress Millie Bobby Brown basically steals every scene because her character, Eleven has got some crazy, supernatural abilities.

But part of playing the character Eleven comes with one major sacrifice. Millie had to chop off all of her hair. In a new video tweeted out to her thousands of followers, Millie gave us a behind the scenes look of her insane transformation.

Starting off by just cutting the long strands, Millie honestly looked pretty relaxed about the whole thing. But then, once all the pieces were chopped off…well her reaction was basically the same as mine.

Yikes, for all you girls with long hair out there. I can only imagine how that would feel. She’s definitely a trooper…and then comes the clippers.Wow. I highly doubt that you need another reason to fangirl over Millie, but this video is truly inspiring. Fans are already calling her brave and thanking her for sharing her experience. The whole thing took about 10 minutes and after it was over, no she did not cry, but instead looked into the camera and gave her best death stare…and right there Eleven was born.
