"Lucky the Leprechaun's loss is our loss. When Lucky's cereal is taken from him, who is really getting robbed? We are. Raising children to turn a blind eye to petty crime steals our future from us. But we can get it back. We can fight for our future. Our lucky charms are: hope, compassion, family, and hard work. That ... that is what's really lucky." - Don Draper

Dance Festival in Japan...
AWA ODORI 2023
Tokushima's Awa Odori (阿波おどり) is the most famous of many dance festivals held across Japan during the Obon season in mid August. Awa is the former name for Tokushima Prefecture while Odori means dance.
The Awa Odori festival grew out of the tradition of the Bon Odori which is danced as part of the Bon "Festival of the Dead", a Japanese Buddhist celebration where the spirits of deceased ancestors are said to visit their living relatives for a few days of the year.

Batman Dance Party
[Source: i09] You can sit here all you want and tell me that the Adam West-era Batman theme song isn’t fantastic, but you’d be lying. Lying, I say. The very good people at Monster Truck Ninja know this to be true, and have given all of Gotham’s best (and worst) the chance to boogie to the iconic music in an excellent CG video that encapsulates what makes classic stop-motion animation so great.

Diwali - Dance of the Children
Here's a cultural dance performed by Japanese children to a Tamil song. Keep an eye on the youngest girl (at the far right end of the first row). Even though this is a complicated dance, she is able to keep up with the rest of them. Enjoy! [Reposted from October 22, 2010]

We will be featuring some fascinating news about Asian art, culture, and traditions throughout the month of May.
We start the celebration with these Japanese children dancing to a Tamil song. Their performance may be even better than the original one from the movie. Keep an eye on the youngest girl (at the far right end of the first row).Even though this is a complicated dance, she is able to keep up with the rest of them. Excellent!
