Phineas and Ferb visit Tokyo

Caramelldansen!!
Phineas and Ferb land their plane in Tokyo, Japan to refuel for the rest of their trip, and end up doing the Caramelldansen with Stacy's cousins. From the episode "Summer Belongs To You". The lyrics on the video are correct. They are written by Disney in a parody of the broken English, often referred to as "Engrish", which is prevalent in English-language statements on Japanese products and other media due to unfamiliarity with the language and its construction.

LYRICS
Welcome to Tokyo
Being glad that you are here
We can visit ten delightful us
Welcome to Tokyo

As for a list of exotic amusements
We choice between the summer there
Is here we look at baseball
Like the fact that it does

That volleyball is done and is enjoyed
When it's hot we spin in water
Like the fact that it goes

The 31st Annual RAZZIE® Awards

Last Airbender Nabs Worst Movie Award
[Source: Razzie.com] Leading the pack among this year’s RAZZIE choices is RAZZIE Repeat Offender M. Night Shyamalan’s “re-imagining” of the faux-anime’ TV series THE LAST AIRBENDER into a jumbled, jump-cut mess of a movie that fans of the TV show hated even more than critics did (if that’s even possible!). In addition to Worst Director and Worst Picture, AIRBENDER also “won” Worst Screenplay, a brand-new RAZZIE category for 2010, Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D, and Worst Supporting Actor Jackson Rathbone (who had the misfortune to appear in both AIRBENDER and 2010’s other most-RAZZIE-nominated title, TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

The RAZZIES® were created in 1980 as a logical antidote to Tinsel Town’s annual glut of self-congratulatory awards by John Wilson, author of The Official Razzie Movie Guide and Everything I Know I Learned at the Movies. “Winners” were determined by mailing ballots to 637 voters in 46 U.S. states and 17 foreign countries. Electronic voting and certification of this year’s Final RAZZIE® Ballot was handled by Vote-Now.com. Among the sponsors of this year’s awards are Kickbars.com and USObituariesOnline.com. The Barnsdall Gallery Theatre is a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The Last Airbender Movie "wins" Razzies for:
  • Worst Picture
  • Worst Director - M. Night Shyamalan
  • Worst Screenplay
  • Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D
  • Worst Supporting Actor - Jackson Rathbone

Phineas and Ferb - As Seen in Japan

BUSTED! (Extended Japanese Version)

The Japanese title (which was revealed in the episode Cliptastic Countdown) for this song is "覚悟して (Kakugo shite)" that translates as "Prepare", "Get prepared", "Get ready" or something like that. Obviously it means "Prepare (to be busted)", but unfortunately there is no Japanese equivalent for the word "busted". The phrase frequently used in the song is "終わり (Owari)". In this case it is more like "(You're) doomed".

GOSICK - New Mystery Detective Anime

A Fateful Encounter with a Young Female Detective

[Source: Wikipedia] Gosick takes place in 1924 in a small, made-up European country of Sauville. The story centers on Kazuya Kujo, the third son of a Japanese Imperial soldier, who is a transfer student to St. Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. There he meets Victorica, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl who never comes to class and spends her days reading the entire content of the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can't solve. The series mostly focuses on Kazuya and Victorica getting involved in different mystery cases and their struggle to solve them, at the same time forming important bonds with different people.

Characters

Kazuya Kujo (久城 一弥 Kujō Kazuya?)
Voiced by: Miyu Irino (Drama CD), Takuya Eguchi (Anime)
Victorica and Kazuya
The main character of the story. As the youngest son of a soldier, Kazuya has spent most of his life struggling with living in his highly successful siblings' shadows. Jealous of all the attention his brothers got, he worked hard to compete, but everything changed when he understood that adults, who think that the youngest child is always spoiled and useless, will never acknowledge his efforts. With a permanent scar in his heart he left the military academy in Japan and before anyone from his family could stop him, went to study abroad to St. Marguerite. Unfortunately, his appearance, combined with the student body's belief that "the traveler who comes in the spring brings death with him" has resulted in Kazuya being called the "Reaper" and having no friends. By some twist of fate he becomes a messenger and companion to the most eccentric pupil in the school, Victorica. At first he didn't like Victorica because of her arrogant attitude, but after some time he started to care for her and be protective of her. He is described, by Victorica, as a good and sincere person whose soul is pure and beautiful enough to admit pride. Despite everything that happened in Japan he is proud to be a soldier's son.
Victorica de Blois (ヴィクトリカ・ド・ブロワ Vikutorika do Burowa?)
Voiced by: Chiwa Saitou (Drama CD), Aoi Yūki (Anime)
The heroine of the story. Victorica has the appearance of a small (4'7"), almost doll-like, girl with long golden hair and emerald eyes and a voice that sounds exactly like that of an older woman. Another important part of Victorica's appearance is a pipe that she smokes when thinking about something. She spends her days at the conservatory at the top of the library, reading several difficult books, often in different languages, simultaneously. She points at one wall of the library and has told Kazuya that she has read almost all the books over there. Along with her sharp tongue, abusive bluntness and eccentric attitude, she possesses amazing detective skills. After Victorica saves him from a near-arrest, Kazuya finds himself being entangled in every new mystery. Because her mother was a mistress, and according to Victorica "a dangerous person", she was imprisoned in the depths of the de Blois mansion where she developed very un-childlike mannerisms. She was sent off to school under strict orders to never leave the campus (although Grevil sometimes obtains special permission to take her out). When she first met Kazuya she didn't like him and thought that he was annoying and stupid for climbing up all the stairs in the library. She even ignored him and made fun of him, but gradually warmed up to him and began to trust and cherish him. She enjoys "reconstructing chaos" by solving intricate mysteries and often complains of the boredom that causes her headaches. Her mother is from the legendary "Village of the Gray Wolves", a secluded castle inhabited by people with golden hair, small figure and rosy cheeks, just like her, and despite her mother being expelled from the village after being accused of murder, Victorica believes in her innocence.
Victorica's name is spelled "Victorica" on the official Gosick website. Her name is spelled "Victorique" in the first two novels (English translation). All evidences in the novel are that Sauville, the academy and Victorica's family all speak French as their first language. Victorica probably signs her name with the French spelling, "Victorique".

All Star Superman - The Animated Movie

On Blu-Ray and DVD February 22
The new DVD direct movie is based on the DC comic book. Grant Morrison wanted to write a "collection of ‘timeless’ Superman issues". The origins of this lie in a revamp of Superman, Superman Now, which began when Morrison and editor Dan Raspler were unsuccessfully brainstorming ideas for a new take on the character outside the San Diego Comic Con, when they had a "shamanic" encounter with a man dressed as Superman which helped spark the creative process and inspired the cover to the first issue:
"He was perched with one knee drawn up, chin resting on his arms. He looked totally relaxed... and I suddenly realized this was how Superman would sit. He wouldn't puff out his chest or posture heroically, he would be totally chilled. If nothing can hurt you, you can afford to be cool. A man like Superman would never have to tense against the cold; never have to flinch in the face of a blow. He would be completely laid back, un-tense. With this image of Superman relaxing on a cloud looking out for us all in my head, I rushed back to my hotel room and filled dozens of pages of my notebook with notes and drawings."

[Source: Wikipedia] Dr. Leo Quintum and his team from P.R.O.J.E.C.T. are exploring the Sun when they are sabotaged by a booby-trapped, genetically enhanced Lex Luthor clone. Superman saves the day, but finds out he has a new power: the ability to project his bioelectric aura. Lex Luthor (used by General Sam Lane to work for the government) has orchestrated this to overwhelm Superman's cells with a massive amount of yellow solar radiation. Dr. Quintum determines that Superman's newly enhanced power is also killing him, and that he has about one year to live. Lex Luthor is arrested, thanks to Clark Kent's article. Superman decides to keep his impending death secret from the public. However, Superman reveals his secret identity to Lois Lane because he wants to spend his remaining time with her. Lois refuses to believe that Clark and Superman are the same person, and suspected him of playing a birthday trick on her. For her birthday, Superman takes her to the Fortress of Solitude. During this visit Superman's secretive behavior heightens Lois' suspicions. She becomes paranoid after she is exposed to alien chemicals in the air which play on her fears. Her paranoia causes her to attack Superman with a kryptonite laser. Superman learns that his newly enhanced powers have rendered him immune to green kryptonite. Superman is able to calm her down and reveals that his secret was that he has been preparing her birthday present: superpowers for 24 hours. Now as a Superwoman, she and Superman stop a monster attack in Metropolis just as Samson and Atlas arrive. Flirting with Lois, and showing a newspaper that reads "Superman Dead, by Clark Kent", Samson is revealed to be the one who stole jewels from an Ultra-Sphinx. Kidnapping Lois; the Sphinx demands an answer to the question: What happens when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object? and Superman answers: They surrender, Lois is saved. Superman then defeats Atlas and Samson in a double arm-wrestling match for Lois' company. Superman and Lois then go from the ocean depths to the moon and kiss before her powers fade and she falls asleep. Superman flies her home without being able to ask his question.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Fan-Made Superman Animated Film Short

One of the BEST Man of Steel Films in Last Few Years

[Source: Syfy] Robb Pratt has worked in animation for years, on movies like Tarzan and TV shows like Kim Possible. So it's no wonder that his love letter to Superman has such flair. Taking the music from old Superman serials, and recruiting TV's Superboy (John Newton) for the voice of Clark, Pratt concocted a one-minute prequel to an alien invasion that begs for more.

News: Former I.G Partner Storm Lion Closes in Singapore posted on 2011-01-10 15:16 EST
Storm Lion assumed costs of cancelled collaboration Titan Rain
The Strait Times newspaper and the FilmBiz.Asia site report that the animation studios Storm Lion and Egg Story Creative Production shut down in Singapore at the end of last year. Storm Lion once planned a joint production with the anime studio Production I.G before they canceled the project. In November 2009, Production I.G announced that it would work with Storm Lion on a co-production titled Titan Rain. The companies tentatively scheduled the feature film project for a 2012 release, but they dropped the plans by August of last year, with Storm Lion assuming all the costs. At that time, Production I.G parent IG Port announced another project with an unnamed Singapore studio. Egg Story Creative Production also shut down in the middle of production for Kung Fu Gecko, a planned computer-graphics film which turned into a television project. The Egg Story Digital Arts School, a related but separately funded and managed establishment, will continue to operate.

Soon after transferring, he discovers that one of the student in the class next door to his, Erika Sendo, is in fact a type of vampire. Kohei is the protagonist of the story, and is a fifth-year student. After always transferring to other schools, he makes his way to Shuchikan Academy where he plans to stay for a while. Erika is also a fifth-year student, as well as the student council vice-president. She is a vampire. 2:50 - 3:15    The World God Only Knows 4
[Source: Wikipedia] Keima Katsuragi, a second-year high school student, is an avid bishōjo game player. He is known on the Internet as "The Capturing God (落とし神 Otoshi-gami?)" for his legendary skills to be able to "capture" any 2D girl in games. However, in his actual school life, Keima is known as otameganeportmanteau of the two words otakumegane (メガネ-"glasses") and is considered nothing but an intelligent yet gloomy geek with glasses. At the start of the series, Keima receives an e-mail offering him a contract to "capture" girls. When he accepts it, thinking it is an invitation to a game, a demon from Hell named Elsie appears. She asks for his cooperation to help her in catching runaway spirits. These spirits hide themselves inside the hearts of girls', and Elsie suggests that the only method to force the spirits out is by "capturing" the girls hearts—making them fall in love with him and filling up the gaps which the runaway spirits hide in. Interested only in 2D girls, however, Keima is appalled by the idea and refuses the assignment as he has no romantic real life experiences whatsoever. Nevertheless, with the contract already agreed, Keima has no choice but to help Elsie no matter what as they will be beheaded if they fail. While the series focuses on Keima and Elsie adventures on capturing spirits, the series also makes fun and parodying common and popular cliches about dating sims, anime character stereotypes and pop culture. [Source: Wikipedia] Shichika Yasuri, the main character of the story. After living on a certain island in the country of Tamba for the past twenty years, he is sought out by Togame with a mission to find twelve unique swords. As a practitioner of the Kyotōryuu school of swordplay, he does not use a single sword when fighting, instead using his hands and legs as his primary weapons. In a sense, he is actually a physical fighter, but since he uses hand-chops, he considers it to be an art of the sword. The reason why he practices Kyotōryuu is because the Yasuri family has no talent in handling swords, which dates back to as far as the first head of the school, Kazune Yasuri. He is in love with Togame and will do anything she tells him to do; however, he sometimes considers her orders a hassle. After defeating Hakuhei Sabi and retrieving his sword, Shichika also inherits Hakuhei's title and becomes known as the strongest swordsman in Japan. His catchphrase is "but before then you'll be torn to pieces". Togame is a self-titled strategian. She arrives on the island where Shichika resides in order to seek his help with finding the final twelve swords forged by Shikizaki Kiki. Her father was Takahito Hida, the leader of the last rebellion and also one of the people Mutsue Yasuri had killed back then; this makes Shichika the son of Togame's father's killer. The reason behind her seeking help from Shichika is that he has no reason to keep the swords for himself and she believes that people who work for love can be trusted the most; that is why she tells Shichika to fall for her. She has a habit of saying "cheerio" while punching Shichika.

5:55 - 7:55    King of Thorn [MOVIE]   ***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
[Source: Wikipedia] King of Thorn is a science fiction survivor drama. For its most part, the story is viewed through the eyes of the two protagonists, a Japanese girl named Kasumi and, British muscleman, Marco Owen. Kasumi is introduced as one of only 160 people in the whole world who were chosen as candidates to experiment a cure against the deadly Medusa virus, a mortal disease which was running rampant in the world. Such an event is not met with joy by Kasumi, who is forced to enter treatment and cold sleep without her twin sister Shizuku, whom she cares much about. 48 hours later, however, some of those put in hibernation abruptly woke up, only to find the facility where they were supposed to be treated in a total state of decay, invaded by a lush jungles of trees and especially strange vines covered in thorns, which appear to have something of a mind on their own. Not only that, but the survivors soon discover that the entire ruin is filled with strange, dinosaur-like creatures and other monstrous aberrations of nature. Thinking that a great amount of time passed since their arrival on the island, soon the survivors discover not only that their sleep was indeed too short to label such dramatic changes as natural occurrence, but also that the situation in and of itself is far greater than they could imagine. One pivotal role in the story is that covered by the Medusa virus, a mortal disease so named after the Medusa from Greek Mythology, the Gorgon whose eyesight could turn anyone and anything into stone at a mere glance. The virus itself is extremely virulent, infecting its victim's cells and causing seizures while drying up the body, turning the infected into a solid, stone-like corpse. While perceived as a terrible malaise by the world, in reality the Medusa virus is not a virus at all, being a shapeless presence brought to Earth from outer space. It landed in Siberia during a meteor shower, by chance near a young boy and his pet deer, enough to instantly infect both him and his animal. Unknowingly bringing the concentrated thing to his home, he infected his whole family and his sister Alice. She unknowingly uncovered the true nature of Medusa when her imaginary friend, a cat-boy hybrid, came to life by erupting from her back. Terrified by the death of her family and the fact that the newborn creature devoured her brother's deer, she trapped it in her house and set it on fire, thus spreading Medusa all over the world, albeit dispersing it. It was then that the people affiliated with Venus Gate, a religious sect, showed themselves and approached Alice, believing her ability to turn imagination into reality to be a gift from the heavens. Experimenting on her and Medusa, during that time they assumed a hacker named Zeus as their security specialist, though in doing so they doomed themselves when he, pursuing his crazy dreams, developed an artificial way to force dreams into suitable hosts and, thus, fabricate mind-created realities at will to accomplish his plan to force the world into a primal survival game to amuse himself.
