Harrison Ford injured while filming Star Wars VII

[Source: blastr.com] Filming on Star Wars: Episode VII will have to go on without Han Solo for a bit.

Disney announced Thursday that Harrison Ford, who's reprising his role as the legendary smuggler and pilot, injured his ankle while filming J.J. Abrams' much-anticipated continuation of the saga, and was taken to a local hospital. Disney did not give any details regarding how serious the ankle injury is, but a statement from the company did note that "shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates."

Disney also didn't reveal exactly what caused Ford's injury, but according to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, Ford was hurt "by the door of the Millennium Falcon," the iconic starship he piloted in the first three Star Wars films. That's still not very specific, and the ship certainly has more than one door, but you can bet Chewbacca's going to get an earful about this.

Jokes aside, though the injury doesn't seem like something too serious at the moment (that we know of), we wish Ford a speedy recovery.

Star Wars: Episode VII hits theaters December 18, 2015.
