He-Man is COOKED? Amazon's live-action Masters of the Universe will significantly diverge from the original franchise, focusing on a young Adam's journey on Earth, which raises concerns among nostalgic fans about its appeal and fidelity to the source material.
It's technology versus magic as He-Man and friends fight back against
the shadowy forces of Skeletor in an epic battle for the heart of Eternia.
From Kevin Smith, Mattel Television Studios, and Netflix comes an epic tale that features He-Man vs. Skeletor in a highly anticipated brawl for all of Eternia.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution arrives January 25th on Netflix.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution is a standalone, new series, loosely following the events of MOTU Revelation - in a war between He-Man vs. Skeletor like never before. Featuring Chris Wood as He-Man alongside a star-studded cast.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution will premiere 2024, only on Netflix
The fate of Eternos hangs in the balance as He-Man and the heroes forge new alliances — and new destinies — to stop Skeletor from raising an Army of the Dead and obtain ultimate power.
Netflix's new CGI He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series has VERY little to do with any previous incarnation of the show... but our first impression is actually pretty good. It was made clear it was a complete reboot, and Adam is NOT an idiot nor does he get killed off in the first episode. Kevin Smith's Revelation set the bar pretty low, but we'll take it.
In Eternia, the first planet of creation, a demonic tyrant rises: Skeletor. With dark armies at his command, Skeletor is on the march, hell-bent on capturing Eternia's kingdoms, and its ultimate prize Castle Grayskull, the ancient fortress of mystery said to contain the greatest power in the universe. It's up to He-Man, voiced by Yuri Lowenthal, and his brave squad of rookie heroes to stop Skeletor and restore the peace. Both sides come armed with enchanted Power Weapons transforming them into Masters of the Primal Powers of the Universe. It's Master vs. Dark Master, He-Man vs. Skeletor fighting for control of Eternia, Castle Grayskull, and the fate of us all. In the end, who will become Master of the Universe?
He-Man and his powerful friends learn what it means to be a hero while battling the evil forces of Skeletor and his minions. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is the second of two series based on the He-Man property in the works from Netflix. The first, announced in August 2020, is the anime series Masters of the Universe: Revelation,
helmed by Kevin Smith and animated by Powerhouse Animation. While
Revelation serves as a sequel series to the original cartoon, the new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
is a reboot, featuring familiar characters and themes with new designs.
Another contrast is the animation styles of the two series, as Revelation is traditional where He-Man is 3D.
Unlike the 2021 Kevin Smith version of He-man and the Masters of the Universe, there was a reboot of the series in 2002 that actually respected the original material and did not go out of its way to destroy all the male characters in favor of their extreme feminist and "woke" culture agenda. Here is the entire 2002 animation series (both seasons 1 & 2) that stays faithful to the original.
From Executive Producer Kevin Smith, comes an epic story that picks up where the 80’s series left off and brings the power of Grayskull back to the world. Part 1 of Masters of the Universe: Revelation premieres July 23, only on Netflix.
