X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

The Opening Battle...

The film will be based on the comic book storyline "Days of Future Past," which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

Winnie the Pooh as Darth Vader!

DARTH POOH...

Jim Cummings has voiced hundreds of characters, including Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. At last year’s ConnectiCon, Cummings and fellow voice actor Lauren Landa read a few lines from Star Wars using their characters’ voices.

There’s nothing quite like hearing Darth Vader end a dark line with, “Oh bother…”

First Look at Live-Action Lupin III

--  L U P I N   III  --

[Source: AnimeNewsNetwork] The first official character visuals from the new live-action film of Monkey Punch's Lupin III manga debuted on Wednesday. It stars (from left to right) Tadanobu Asano as Detective Kōichi Zenigata, Gou Ayano as Goemon Ishikawa, Shun Oguri as Lupin, Tetsuji Tamayama as Daisuke Jigen, and Meisa Kuroki as Fujiko Mine.

The photoshoot caused even Monkey Punch to remark, "Looks good. This is going to be quite a movie." Notably, Oguri is wearing the red velvet jacket and yellow necktie of the second television anime series. He underwent 10 months of action training with sticks and lost eight kilograms (about 18 pounds) for the role. Oguri wields Lupin III's favorite Walter P38, while Tamayama bears the familiar Smith & Wesson Model 19 Combat Magnum as Jigen. Kuroki performed her own wire action stunts as Fujiko.

The first live-action adaptation of Lupin III in four decades will open on August 30. It will tell an original story while being faithful to the original work. Lupin III and his gang will infiltrate the high security of the Ark of Navarone, a gigantic fortress-like safe, to lay claim to the Crimson Heart of Cleopatra within. It is said that whoever possesses this treasure shall "unite the world."

The movie began filming on October 3 and finished principal photography on December 26. The production shot in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines. It is now in the middle of the final steps of editing, and the staff aims to complete post production and the film itself at the end of June. Ryuhei Kitamura (Azumi) is directing the film, and Mataichirō Yamamoto wrote the script.

Take Yoshida, a writer and a friend of director Kitamura, had told the website zakzak that the director intends to change the setting to make the characters modern. Yūki Meguro played Lupin in the first live-action film, 1974's Lupin III: Strange Psycho-Kinetic Strategy.

GRAVITY - The Alternate Beginning...

G R A V I T Y  &  Man of Steel

• Hard to believe, but Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron ("Children of Men") originally shot an opening scene for Gravity with Christopher Reeve that would have radically changed the film. Too bad the brass at Warner Bros. rejected this version.

Live-Action 'Attack on Titan' Film

Haruma Miura

Japanese daily newspapers are reporting on Thursday that 23-year-old Haruma Miura is starring in the live-action film of Hajime Isayama's popular manga Attack on Titan. The papers say that the actor is preparing for the beginning of filming early this summer at Hashima Island in Nagasaki Prefecture. The island has been nicknamed Gunkanjima ("Battleship Island") and is known worldwide for its landscape of dilapidated buildings.

Miura's previous manga-inspired projects include Gokusen 3, Bloody Monday, Crows Zero II, and Kimi ni Todoke.

Isayama's manga depicts the battles between humans and the giants who now rule the world outside humans' walled enclaves. The film incorporates original elements into its own story.

The film is slated to open next year.

While Miura missed an event on March 30 due to poor health, the newspapers reported that he is already working again.

Higuchi already shot a live-action Attack on Titan commercial for the Subaru Forester:

"Kill La Kill" April Fools' Day Joke

Be prepared for some local food humor

[Source: Scott Green of Ainititcool News] Food humor can be a bit local, so the April Fools' Day joke on the Kill La Kill site might not totally translate. The background you need to know is that konnyaku is a mostly tasteless gelatinous food that gives texture to dishes such as oden, made from a fibrous plant in the same family as taro. Here, it's been mixed with life fibers.

In the announcement, Honnoji Academy has introduced new Konnyaku with Life Fiber, created through a joint development with the Sanageyama Konnyaku company. This konnyaku tastes good for a change... and one more thing! It also works as a phone, complete with touch panel and the new operating system "sOS" developed by Honnoji Academy's own Shiro Iori.

Sanageyama Konnyaku has a long history in the industry, with connections through Uzu Sanageyama, this new venture has been financially backed by the Kiryuin family. The press conference also saw the introduction of Naniwa Kinman High school's new lighter, more cost effective model of Meat Armour.

Awesome Cut Scene from 'The Raid 2'

Just how badass is 'The Raid 2'? They had to cut out this scene from the movie. It almost works as a short film in and of  itself. Ultra-violence galore! The movie hits theaters this Friday. Please note: NSFW.

"This is one of a few deleted scenes taken from the film. Reasons to cut were entirely down to pacing issues. This was probably the hardest for me to cut due to the fact that the production on this scene lasted around 6 days of shooting, it cost us a fuck load to make and it served to escalate the gang war out onto the streets involving people outside of the closed off inter-gang politics. At the end of the day though, after discussing its worth it took us away from the central theme for a little too long with characters that would only exist in this scene alone. Whenever I edit a film - every scene feels like a precious moment. "No fucking way can I cut this" is a regular phrase I utter at Aram (one of the producers at XYZ Films who patiently worked with me to get the film to it's final cut) but his patience was always a virtue and it's when you make a cut and no longer miss it from the bigger picture a few days down the line that you realise it was the right decision to make. But I still want you guys to see the chaos and the mayhem we had in store, and so with the release of the film coming in a few days time - here's a sample of one of the action scenes that simply didn't make it.

Enjoy."
