Remember this? - X-Men: Evolution!

X-Men: Evolution
Professor Charles Francis Xavier, who has the mutant ability to read minds, searches for new mutants to train them how to use their powers for good and to prevent the mutants from harming themselves and others at his School for Gifted Youngsters. His opposition, Magneto "Master of Magnetism", is doing the same thing, but for evil purposes. He has made Mystique who is a shape-shifter, a principle of his high school to gather evil mutants to prepare them for war against non-mutants. The most interesting plot of the story is that all the heroes and villains attend the same high school. The classic battle of good vs. evil has begun again.

Watch the first 6 minutes of "The Gifted"

T H E   G I F T E D
[Source: Syfy] Action-adventure family drama THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

The first episode (titled “eXposed”) was directed by X-Men movie director Bryan Singer. It kicks off with Blink (Jamie Chung) on the run from police (we learn she broke out of a mutant detention center) and displaying the same awesome mutant powers we saw from the character played by Bingbing Fan in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Showing up to help are Marcos Diaz/Eclipse (Sean Teale), Lorna Dane/Polaris (Emma Dummont) and John Proudstar/Thunderbird (Blair Redford). The first action-packed minutes pull no punches and display the characters’ mutant powers in all their TV FX-glory.

Set at a time when the X-Men have disappeared, The Gifted follows the Strucker family who discover their two teenage kids are mutants. On the run from a government hostile to mutants, the family goes underground where they meet our main mutant characters. The series hails from showrunner Matt Nix (Burn Notice), Fox and Marvel TV.

The Gifted debuts Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. on Fox, following the Season 3 premiere of Lucifer.

Learn X-23's origin before you see 'Logan'

The Secret Origin of X-23
A top-secret program is tasked to replicate the original Weapon X experiment that bonded adamantium to the skeleton of Wolverine. The project is taken in a new direction: Dr. Martin Sutter recruits renowned mutant geneticist Dr. Sarah Kinney to develop a clone of Wolverine. Also on the team is Sutter's protege, Dr. Zander Rice, who was raised by Sutter after his father was killed by the original Weapon X.

Since the only genetic sample from Weapon X is damaged, Kinney is unable to salvage the Y chromosome. Kinney proposes the creation of a female genetic twin. Her request is denied; Rice is opposed to the idea. After 22 failed attempts at reconstituting the DNA using a duplicate X chromosome, the 23rd sample yields a viable sample to combine with an embryo. Although Kinney is allowed to proceed, Rice exacts revenge for her insubordination by forcing her to act as the surrogate mother of the specimen. For nine months, Kinney's every move is monitored. Finally, she gives birth to "X-23".
After seven years, Rice subjects X-23 to radiation poisoning in order to activate her mutant gene. He extracts her claws, coats them with adamantium, and reinserts them back into her hands and feet – a procedure performed without affording the child any anesthetic. Rice creates a "trigger scent" that drives X-23 into a murderous rage when she detects it. X-23 is then trained to be a hired assassin, ordered to kill "anyone ... everyone ... for a price."

Kinney's niece Megan is abducted by a serial killer; she smuggles X-23 out of the facility to rescue her. X-23 tracks the abductor to his apartment, kills him, and frees Megan. Kinney is fired when she returns and is escorted off the base. Shortly thereafter, Rice assigns X-23 to eliminate Sutter and his family. He orders her to keep it secret. X-23 reveals to Sarah that Rice is responsible for the murders. Before Kinney leaves, Rice reveals a chamber containing the incubation pods for subjects X-24 through X-50.

Kinney drafts a letter to her daughter, assigning her a final mission: destroy the pods and kill Rice. X-23 succeeds and meets her mother, and they prepare to flee. However, prior to his death, Rice exposed Kinney to the trigger scent. X-23 goes into a murderous frenzy and kills her mother. As she lies dying, Kinney tells X-23 that her name is Laura and that she loves her, and hands her the letter and pictures of Charles Xavier, Wolverine, and the Xavier Institute.

Redband Trailer for 'Logan'

L  O  G  A  N
[Source: SyfyWire] Ahead of the movie’s release in less than two months, 20th Century Fox has unleashed a new full-length trailer for director James Mangold’s Wolverine sequel, Logan.

The movie sees the return of Hugh Jackman as the Adamantium-clawed mutant for the ninth (including cameos) and final time (unless Ryan Reynolds manages to convince him to return for the upcoming Deadpool 2) and Sir Patrick Stewart as an aging Charles Xavier.

Based on Marvel’s highly popular Old Man Logan comics, the R-rated comic book movie is set in 2029, where mutants are a dying breed due to a virus, Logan’s healing powers are failing and Professor X is losing his memories. If that wasn't bad enough, there's also a shadowy government organization called Transigen that's snatching young mutants and turning them into deadly weapons.

That’s where X-23 (Dafne Keen) comes in.

The new trailer revolves around the young female version of Wolverine named Laura Kinney, who's a feral little thing. I have to say I had some amazing chills when I saw Logan and her fight side by side in the trailer below. Also, how cool is that Meta bit with that X-Men comic? VERY cool!! Here's the official synopsis:

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

The cast also includes Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce, the leader of a team of mutant-hatin' cyborgs called the Reavers, Stephen Merchant as Caliban and Richard E. Grant as Dr. Zander Rice, the main villain of the piece and the creator of X-23.

Logan will open in theaters on March 3.

Logan - Official Trailer

W  O L L O V G E A R N I  N  E
[Source: blastr] If you didn’t know it was an X-Men film walking in, the first trailer for James Mangold’s Logan didn’t do a whole lot to really give it away — and that’s awesome. So what does the director have to say about this very different take on Wolverine?

Empire chatted with Mangold in a breakdown of the new trailer, and the interview included a few major details for fans. First up: He confirmed the film is set after the future coda in X-Men: Days of Future Past, meaning we’re probably around the late 2020s or early 2030s at this point. He also talked about how age has changed Wolverine both physically and mentally, meaning we might not be able to see all the scars he’s sporting.

Check out an excerpt from his comments below:

“One of the things we all thought about as we worked on this film is, well, we don’t want to rebuild everything. We want to have some questions. In order to make a different Logan, and a different tone of a Wolverine movie, we felt like we couldn’t hold on to every tradition established in all the movies religiously, or we’d be trapped by the decisions made before us. So we questioned whether Logan’s healing factor causes him to heal without even a scar. We imagined that it may have when he was younger, but with age, he’s getting older and ailing. Perhaps his healing factor no longer produces baby-soft skin. So we imagined he heals quickly, still, but it leaves a scar. The simple idea was that his body would start to get a little more ravaged with a kind of tattooing of past battles, lacerations that remain of previous conflicts…

We are in the future, we have passed the point of the epilogue of Days Of Future Past. We’re finding all these characters in circumstances that are a little more real. The questions of ageing, of loneliness, of where I belong. Am I still useful to the world? I saw it as an opportunity. We’ve seen these characters in action, saving the universe. But what happens when you’re in retirement and that career is over? The really interesting thing to me, or a place to dig that hadn’t been dug, was the idea of mutants when they’re no longer useful to the world, or even sure if they can do what they used to do. Their powers are diminished like all of ours are by age.”

Logan is set to open March 7, 2017.

New explosive trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse

X - M E N :  A P O C A L Y P S E
The final movie in Singer's new X-Men trilogy (the one begun with X-Men: First Class) also introduces Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Lana Condor (Jubilee), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Ben Hardy (Angel) and Olivia Munn (Psylocke).

The exciting new trailer offers a peek at the mystical origins of the first mutant, En Sabah Nur, aka Apocalypse (Isaac), and we also have a look at Angel’s feathered wings, before Apocalypse got his hands on him and turned them into those lethal razor-blade thingies. From the looks of things, the stakes have never been higher for the X-Men (and the world). Check it out:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse will blast into movie theaters on May 27, 2016.

"X-men Days of Future Past" Movie vs. Comic

Six Ways 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'
Differed from the Comic
In adapting the classic 1981 X-Men comics arc “Days of Future Past,” the new mega-grossing movie used its time-travel plot as an ingenious way to stitch together the flashback X-Men of 2010’s First Class with Hugh Jackman and Co.’s core crew from the original trilogy (while also conveniently erasing the troubles caused by a less-popular entry in the series). However, many changes had to be made from the source material, as certain facts didn’t jibe with liberties taken with the mythology in earlier films, along with other complicating factors. Here are the significant ways the movie diverged from the original comic. (And obviously, major spoilers lie ahead for those who haven’t seen the film yet.)

1. Wolverine steals the show
In the comic, it’s Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page in the film), not Wolverine, whose consciousness is transported back in time: She goes back to her 13-year-old body, to a time just weeks after she joined the X-Men. But that wouldn’t work for the film, as Kitty wouldn’t have been born yet in 1973 according to the films’ timeline, which has her as a teenager in 2006’s The Last Stand. Instead, the movie has Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) go back because he’s the only one who can survive the trauma of such a big leap in time — or so they say. We all know the real reason is because since the first film fourteen years ago, Wolverine has been the linchpin of the series and Jackman its biggest star. Plus, Logan doesn’t age, so you only need one actor for the part.

2. Kitty gets a consolation prize
It’s like Musical X-Chairs: Wolverine took Kitty’s starring role, so Kitty moved over one seat and bumped another character right out of the movie. In the comic, it’s future-dwelling telepath — and eventual wielder of the Phoenix force — Rachel Summers who has the power to transport people’s consciousness back in time, but she hasn’t been introduced in the cinematic universe. Kitty doesn’t have this ability in the comics — her skill is to phase through walls — but in the movie she suddenly has been granted Rachel’s power. They don’t really bother explaining when or how she gained this secondary skill, though, but then there’s a lot of story to get to. And maybe now that Cyclops (James Marsden) and Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) are back in the picture, there’s hope for little Rachel to pop up in this series after all.

3. Further Future, earlier Past
Up until First Class, the X-Men films had been fairly coy about specific dates, with the first few taking place in “the not too distant future.” But the latest installment’s framing battle with the Sentinels can be pinned down to around 2023, as when Wolverine jumps back in time, the difference is regularly referred to as “50 years.” That puts the two sections of the story further apart than in the comic, when grown-up Kitty Pryde jumped from 2013 back to 1980. So why the ’70s? To better align with the fact that First Class was set in the early sixties — and so they didn’t have to worry about why James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender aren’t further along on their transformations into Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

4. Souped-up Sentinels
In the comic, the Sentinels are three-story-tall, flying pink-and-purple hulks that shoot photons and can track down mutants based on their DNA alone. That kind of murderous simplicity won’t fly in the movies, apparently. Bryan Singer gave the giant mutant-killing robots an upgrade; the pilfered Mystique DNA gives them the ability to adapt to and mimic mutant powers, a talent they’ve never had before. However, the original basic Sentinels were given a brief moment in the spotlight, shown as the models Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) introduces just before the film’s climax.

5. Moving target
In the comic, the time-travel mission is stopping Mystique from killing vociferously anti-mutant Senator Robert Kelly, whose assassination prompts the implementation of the Sentinel program that leads to the dystopian future the X-Men are looking to change. But Sen. Kelly already existed in the first X-Men film, played by Bruce Davison — until the character turned into a jellyfish and exploded. In the film, Kelly is swapped out for Sentinel architect Boliver Trask (Peter Dinklage), who is one of the biggest villains in the comics and possibly more anti-mutant than Kelly ever was. In the film, mention is made of Trask being responsible for the death of a host of unseen First Class characters, including Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones), Angel (Zoe Kravitz) and Emma Frost (January Jones). And of course, pay no attention to the man named Trask played by Bill Duke in The Last Stand. It’s unclear if he was supposed to be a different take on the same Sentinel-designing character, but it doesn’t really matter since that’s all been wiped from the timeline anyway.

6. The reason all should be forgiven
When the comic was published in 1981, Kitty Pryde was jumping back to what was essentially the readers’ present, with the future serving as more of a cautionary tale. But in the film, the dystopian future (and the X-Men struggling to survive it) are closer to the viewers’ now than McAvoy and Fassbender’s groovy ’70s setting. And the point of the comic seemed to be to both introduce time travel and a nightmare future full of mutant persecution that would factor in a lot in future issues as well as give readers more time with eventual fan favorite Kitty. The prime directive of the movie, however, seems to be to streamline the two X-Men franchises while undoing the damage done by Brett Ratner. A noble cause, to be sure.

Watch Mystique Kick-Ass in New X-men Clip

X-men: Days of Future Past
Wow! In this clip, we see Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) use her shape-changing powers and unique fighting style (scissor kicks!) to take down a group of militant baddies.

The film will be based on the comic book storyline "Days of Future Past," which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.
