The organizers of the Anime Central convention announced on Wednesday that the Japanese pop trio Kalafina will perform at the convention on May 17. Anime Central notes that the performance will mark Kalafina's "first full band performance" in the United States.
Kalafina's Wakana, Keiko, and Hikaru debuted in 2008 with "Oblivious," the first of seven ending theme songs for the Kara no Kyōkai - the Garden of Sinners anime films. Since then, they have performed theme songs for several other anime, including Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Sound of the Sky, Fate/Zero, and both seasons of Black Butler.
Verteran composer Yuki Kajiura (Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Noir, .hack//SIGN) put together the Kalafina group and writes the music. Kalafina previously attended Anime Expo in 2011 and Anime Boston in 2009.
Anime Central will be held from May 17-19 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, Illinois. Kalafina's concert will be held at the Akoo Theatre. Tickets will be available only to those who have already purchased admission to the convention.
Wow, nice going ACen dudes!
ReplyDeleteKind of stinks it's for a separate purchase at the neighboring old Rosemont Theatre but the next question is how much are the tickets going to be?
