Bruce Timm's Justice League Returns!

JUSTICE LEAGUE vs. THE FATAL FIVE
[Source: Syfy] This DC animated movie finds the Earth's future hanging in the balance when the Justice League faces a powerful new threat - the Fatal Five. But the Justice League discovers an ally from another time in the peculiar Star Boy - brimming with volatile power, could he be the key to thwarting the Fatal Five?

Fans of the Justice League series starring Kevin Conroy (Batman), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman), and George Newbern (Superman) will be thoroughly excited to hear their old friends are back in action, with some new members to boot. The League has to face a new time-traveling Fatal Five that is hunting the up-and-coming Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz, voiced by Diane Guerrero.

Cruz was first introduced during DC Comics' New 52 relaunch in 2014. It’s a shame Phil LaMarr didn’t reprise his role as the original series Green Lantern, John Stewart, but the new blood is a welcome change.

The rest of the voice cast is made up of Elyes Gabel (Thomas Kallor/Star Boy), Peter Jessop (Thorak), Tom Kenny (Bloodsport), Matthew Yang King (The Persuader), Sumalee Montano (Emerald Empress), Philip Anthony-Rodriguez (Mano), Daniela Bobadilla (Miss Martian), Kevin Michael Richardson (Mr. Terrific), Noel Fisher (Brainiac 5 ), and Tara Strong (Saturn Girl).

The trailer, which comes via IGN, didn’t spell out exactly when we can expect to see this bombastic crossover, but Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is likely to drop later in 2019 on Digital, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD.

'The Dragon Prince' Season 2 Trailer

THE DRAGON PRINCE: SEASON TWO
[Source: Anime Superhero] Wonderstorm and Netflix have released the trailer for season 2 of The Dragon Prince, set to premiere on Netflix on February 15, 2019.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Season one premiered on September 14, 2018, and immediately topped popularity lists across Google, Rotten Tomatoes, and Tumblr. Lauded for the diversity of its characters and deeply layered storytelling, the show was renewed for a second season less than a month after its debut. The series’ mix of action, adventure, and humor attracted genre fans, families, teens, and animation fans of all ages.

This season, expect new characters, new adventures and new challenges for our young heroes as they race to stop a centuries-old conflict that even kings and queens have failed to resolve.

The nine-episode second season follows Rayla, Callum and Ezran as they continue their adventure to Xadia. But the journey won’t be easy: every step of the way, they’ll be challenged by new foes and old friends alike. They’ll struggle with trust and betrayal, face down vicious dragons, and be tempted by the lure of dark magic, all while protecting the newly-hatched Dragon Prince, Zym.

The series is produced by Wonderstorm and led by co-creators Aaron Ehasz (head writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Justin Richmond (game director of Uncharted 3).

Last season: the magical lands of Xadia and the Human Kingdoms are on the brink of war. A group of elven assassins sets out to kill the human leader, King Harrow, to avenge the destruction of the egg of the Dragon Prince. But when the youngest assassin, Rayla, meets up with the king’s sons, princes Callum and Ezran, they learn that the egg was stolen, not destroyed. The unlikely trio embarks on an epic journey to return the egg to the Dragon Queen and restore peace to both their lands.

Miyazaki's First U.S. Museum Show in 2019

Hayao Miyazaki’s First Major U.S.
Museum Show Will Be In Los Angeles
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, set to open in late 2019, will debut with a retrospective devoted to Hayao Miyazaki.

Presented in collaboration with Studio Ghibli, the Academy is calling the Miyazaki show “unprecedented” and “the first major exhibition of his work presented in the United States.” It is curated by Jessica Niebel.

More details:
The exhibition will take visitors on a thematic journey through his cinematic worlds using original production materials from Studio Ghibli’s archives, and features such films as My Neighbor Totoro (1988) and Spirited Away (2001). The exhibition will present more than 200 concept sketches, character designs, storyboards, layouts, cels, backgrounds, film clips, and immersive environments. A catalogue, film series, and public events will accompany the presentation, and unique Studio Ghibli merchandise will be sold at the museum’s shop.

Located at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, the Academy Museum will be located in the historic May Company Building, originally completed in 1939. Designed by Renzo Piano, the museum will have six floors including exhibition spaces, a 288-seat theater, an education studio, special event spaces, conservation areas, a café, and store. A new spherical addition will connect to the May Building via glass bridges and will feature a 1,000-seat theater and rooftop terrace.
In addition to the temporary Miyazaki exhibition, the museum will launch with the permanent exhibit “Where Dreams Are Made: A Journey Inside the Movies” (working title), a 30,000-square-foot, two-floor survey of the art and science of motion pictures. Some concept paintings of the permanent exhibit are shown below:
