The Crunchyroll sale to Sony has been finalized, and it sounds like Funimation and Crunchyroll will be merging soon... and likely getting rid of "redundancies." You know, like lots of layoffs? So what will a Western anime streaming industry run by Sony look like, anyway? A lot more censorship? More High Guardian Spice? Who knows. As long as we still get Rising of the Shield Hero, and it's not watered down to appease California...

"Vinland Saga Season 2", the highly anticipated sequel by anime fans is finally here! Based on the original manga series, "Vinland Saga" written by Makoto Yukimura and published in the Monthly Afternoon magazine by Kodansha in Japan.
The finale of "Vinland Saga" Season 1 has left both the story's characters and its fans spinning. Now in service of the Danish Prince Canute, Askeladd, Thorkell, and Thorfinn conspired to overthrow King Sweyn and put Canute in power. To do this, Askeladd feigned madness and beheaded the king, sacrificing himself to allow Canute an opportunity to seize power. Unable to carry out his lifelong quest for revenge, Thorfinn lost control and was carried away to an unknown location before he could hurt the newly-crowned Canute.
Based on DC Comics’ acclaimed series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y: The Last Man traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. The series follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better.
There is a multitude of movie franchises whose longevity is a direct result of reboots. To those of you who are wondering why is it that a reboot crops up in the first place, well, there are two major reasons. Firstly, a reboot is expected when a film is a huge box office success, and secondly when a flick does not fare that well. Focusing on the latter case, a film or a series with a lot to offer in terms of story, but that was initially stalled by either bad reviews or low earnings, can revive itself through an exciting, thrilling new take. But mind you, with every good reboot, there are plenty of bad ones that are only interested in milking money from the fanbase. Hence, keeping in mind that reboots tend to one an extreme or another – they are either exceedingly successful or highly disappointing, we are going to take a very good look at 12 of the most underrated cartoons that went to the future or let’s say reimagined themselves.

SYNOPSIS
Broke young man + chainsaw dog demon = Chainsaw Man. The story follows a young boy named Denji, a poor boy who is forced by the yakuza into killing devils in order to pay off his crushing debts. However, after his last mission, he has outlived his usefulness and was murdered by a devil in contract working for the yakuza. But Denji's life of poverty has changed forever when he was revived by his pet/weapon chainsaw dog, Pochita! Catching the eye of the official devil hunters who arrived at the scene, he is offered work at the Public Safety Bureau as one of them. Star Trek: Prodigy is an upcoming American animated television series created by Kevin and Dan Hageman for the streaming service Paramount+ and the cable channel Nickelodeon. It will launch in 2021 as part of executive producer Alex Kurtzman's expanded Star Trek Universe. Prodigy follows a group of teenagers who use an abandoned starship to search for adventure.
Kate Mulgrew reprises her role as Kathryn Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager. Rylee Alazraqui, Brett Gray, Angus Imrie, Jason Mantzoukas, Ella Purnell, and Dee Bradley Baker
also star. Kurtzman first mentioned the series in January 2019, and it
was confirmed a month later with the Hageman brothers set as creators
and showrunners. Nickelodeon ordered two seasons of Prodigy that April. The series uses computer-generated animation, differing from previous Star Trek animation, and is intended for younger audiences than the rest of the franchise. Ben Hibon
was announced as director in August 2020, and in February 2021, it was
revealed to be debuting on Paramount+ before airing on Nickelodeon.
Star Trek: Prodigy is set to premiere in 2021 on
Paramount+ with the first 10-episode season. It will then air on
Nickelodeon before the second season is released on Paramount+.
In light of their previous heroics, Ratchet (James Arnold Taylor) and Clank (David Kaye) are celebrated as galactic heroes. During a parade in their honor, Clank reveals that he has repaired the Dimensionator, a device capable of opening rifts to other dimensions, so that Ratchet can search for the Lombax race and his missing family. However, Doctor Nefarious (Armin Shimerman) suddenly attacks the parade and attempts to steal the Dimensionator, but during the struggle however, Ratchet unthinkingly shoots the Dimensionator, which causes dimensional rifts to begin opening randomly. Ratchet, Clank, and Dr. Nefarious end up being transported to an alternate universe, the Dimensionator then explodes, which damages the fabric of space and time and separates the three. Clank awakens to find himself alone and now damaged from the blast. Clank is then discovered and picked up by a female Lombax named Rivet (Jennifer Hale). Meanwhile, Dr. Nefarious ends up in a throne room, where he is mistaken for Emperor Nefarious (Robin Atkin Downes), an alternate version of Nefarious who, unlike him, has never been defeated in this dimension. Ratchet meanwhile, finds himself alone and starts his search for Clank. With the emperor currently absent on a conquest, Dr. Nefarious secretly assumes his identity and sends his new minions after Ratchet and Rivet.
While searching, Ratchet witnesses Rivet escaping the planet with Clank. Ratchet encounters Phantom (the alternate Skidd), a member of the Resistance opposed to Emperor Nefarious, who gifts him an electronic helper named Glitch to help him get a ship to follow Rivet. Rivet takes Clank to her hideout, where Clank investigates a dimensional anomaly and makes contact with a prophet named Gary, who enlists his help in repairing dimensional anomalies to prevent the Dimensional Cataclysm. Rivet repairs Clank's communicator and he and Rivet are able to contact Ratchet, and come up with a plan to rebuild the Dimensionator so they can return to their own home dimension and stop the Dimensional Cataclysm.
Ratchet heads out to find the blueprint for the Dimensionator, and recruits one of Gary's robot apprentices, Kit (Debra Wilson), to be his partner. Kit warns Ratchet that she is a Warbot built by Emperor Nefarious and she might lose control of her programming and attack him, but Ratchet reassures her that they make a good team. They then head to a secret lab to forge a new Dimensionator. Rivet and Clank head out to gather the Phase Quartz needed to power the Dimensionator, but it is accidentally destroyed. With no other choice, Rivet and Clank search for the mythical Fixer who can repair anything and convince him to overcome his own self doubt to repair the Phase Quartz. Ratchet and Rivet then finally meet, with Clank reuniting with Ratchet and Kit agreeing to become Rivet's partner. They then complete the Dimensionator, only for Dr. Nefarious to arrive to try to steal it. Dr. Nefarious is defeated, but Emperor Nefarious arrives, easily defeating Ratchet and Rivet and stealing the Dimensionator for himself, which he plans to use to eliminate Captain Quantum (the alternate Captain Qwark) and destroy the Resistance once and for all.
Rivet pursues Emperor Nefarious, but he uses the Dimensionator to banish her to a pocket dimension. As Rivet searches for a rift to escape through, she tells Kit about how she lost her arm to a Warbot attack, and Kit realizes she is responsible. Ratchet heads out to try and warn Captain Quantum, but fails to stop Emperor Nefarious from banishing Captain Quantum through a rift. Emperor Nefarious celebrates finally conquering the universe, but doesn't feel fulfilled until he realizes he can use the Dimensionator to conquer every dimension. Spying on Emperor Nefarious, Ratchet and Rivet realize Emperor Nefarious will need the Dimensional Map and head out to intercept him. Rivet and Kit board Emperor Nefarious' flagship and rescue Gary, who reveals he hid the Dimensional Map inside a dimensional anomaly. Ratchet and Clank recover the Dimensional Map but are ambushed by Emperor Nefarious and banished through a rift. Kit transforms into her Warbot form to try and stop Emperor Nefarious, shocking Rivet, but Kit ends up being banished through a rift as well.
Left alone, Rivet heads for the prison facility Emperor Nefarious has banished all of his enemies to and stages a prison break, freeing Ratchet and Clank as well as the rest of the Resistance. However, still feeling guilty over causing the loss of Rivet's arm, Kit decides to leave the group. As the Resistance regroups, Emperor Nefarious announces that he plans to start invading other dimensions, starting with Ratchet and Clank's home dimension. Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and the Resistance pursue Emperor Nefarious through the rift. Ratchet and Clank destroy Emperor Nefarious' giant power suit, and Kit returns to hold his forces at bay while Rivet confronts Emperor Nefarious personally. Working together, everybody, including Dr. Nefarious, manage to defeat and banish Emperor Nefarious through a rift. Clank recovers the Dimensionator and uses it to repair the dimensions, averting the Dimensional Cataclysm.
With both dimensions and all of reality saved and the Dimensionator in their possession, Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit take the opportunity to hang out together, repair the damage Emperor Nefarious caused, and go on additional adventures. In the credits, citizens of Nefarious City begin dismantling the regime's legacy, Dr. Nefarious reunited with Lawrence, who is now a father, and Gary shares his findings with his father, The Plumber.

Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild is Steven F. Yamamoto's directorial debut, having previously racked up credits for his visual effects work on Transformers, World War Z and the rebooted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. The 3D animated film follows a young Ace Cadet from Monster Hunter Ultimate 4 (you may also recognise him as Exciteable A-Lister from Monster Hunter: World) as he plans to take on an elder dragon due to attack his village. Fellow MH4U hunter Julius is also here, along with some iconic Monster Hunter baddies and beloved Palico companions.

"Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Trailer" has revealed that the "Youjo Senki Season 2" is now currently in production, further adapting deep in Carlo Zen and Shinobu Shinotsuki's original light novel series.

In 2013 of modern-era Tokyo, an unnamed atheist Japanese salaryman, in the moment of being murdered by a disgruntled subordinate whom he had fired due to poor performance at work, is confronted by an entity that declares itself to be God who condemns the salaryman for not having 'faith'. The salaryman disbelieves in its existence, criticises its various statements from his perspective as an atheist and mockingly terms it as 'Being X'. The entity decides to reincarnate the salaryman into a world where he would face sufficiently difficult circumstances to turn to Being X for help.
The salaryman is reborn as Tanya Degurechaff, an orphaned girl in an alternate reality's equivalent of Imperial Germany, known as the Empire, in which World War I dragged on into the 1920s. According to Being X, if Tanya either does not die a natural death or refuses to have faith in it, her soul will leave the cycle of reincarnation and will be sent to hell for the countless sins that Tanya has committed in her previous life. In search for an escape, Tanya decides to join the Empire's Mage Corps and fight in the war, hoping to reach a high enough rank as fast as possible to remain far from the battlefield, and in this way avoid the risk of being killed. Even if she's now forced to speak with a young girl's lips, Tanya soon turns into a ruthless soldier who prioritizes efficiency and her own career over anything else, even the lives of those beneath her, especially those that get on her bad side.
Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Aiko Koyama. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine since December 2016, with its chapters collected in seventeen tankōbon volumes as of July 2021. An anime television series adaptation by J.C.Staff premiered worldwide in February 2021 on NHK World, and it will be followed by a Japanese broadcast on NHK E in October of the same year. As of March 2020, the manga had 1 million copies in circulation. In 2020, the manga won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen category.
The story is set in Kyoto's hanamachigeisha quarter. Here, after geisha finish their work late at night, they rest at the lodge to prepare for the next day. The story centers on Kiyo, a teenager Aomori native who works as a cook in the geisha lodge. She also has a friend named Sumire, who is a maiko (apprentice geisha).
Unlike the 2021 Kevin Smith version of He-man and the Masters of the Universe, there was a reboot of the series in 2002 that actually respected the original material and did not go out of its way to destroy all the male characters in favor of their extreme feminist and "woke" culture agenda. The 13th episode coming in July will kick off the start of the "Valhalla Arc" or also known as "Bloody Halloween Arc". it will also explore the Tokyo Manji's origins and how Mikey and the others went on to form the group (as teased by this trailer).
Fena: Pirate Princess is an upcoming original Japanese anime television series created by Production I.G and Kazuto Nakazawa. The series is a co-production between Crunchyroll and Adult Swim. The series is scheduled for an August 2021 world premiere on both platforms before its broadcast in Japan in October 2021.
