With the help of Masaki Kajishima, Toru Miura, Hiroshi Negishi, and fans from around the world, Armiger Entertainment is proud to present the spiritual sequel of Tenchi Universe: TENCHI GALAXY!

TENCHI GALAXY follows the Tenchi gang as they travel to the planet of the space pirates, MIKUNI, in search of an artifact that was stolen from Jurai. In order to get it back, they must face NIIMI, the queen of the space pirates. What dangers await them? What connection does Niimi have to Ryoko? And whose side is Nagi on?

Tenchi, the girls, and Ryo-Ohki return to the screen just as you remember them.

Detective Kiyone will be appearing in anime form for the first time since 1999, along with Nagi and Ken-Ohki for the first time since 1995!

We personally reached out to the classic English voices of Tenchi Muyo! to see if they would be interested in reprising their iconic roles for another adventure...and they enthusiastically agreed!

We also have some exciting newcomers to the franchise to announce: Cristina Vee is stepping into the role of the one and only Princess Ayeka!

In addition, hololive English Advent's devilish diva and virtual idol Nerissa Ravencroft is portraying the spunky space pirate: Risa!

After 5 long years, the anime series is finally here...

MECHANICAL ARMS
Mechanical Arms is an original anime television series created and directed by Sae Okamoto. It was originally a Kickstarter-backed project launched by Okamoto in October 2016. The project met its goal and a 25-minute pilot was released on YouTube in May 2019. The series is set to premiere in October 2024.
Long ago, alien lifeforms came to Earth, fusing with people on the planet. Due to their appearance, they were dubbed "Mecha-ude," as when fused, they bore a striking resemblance to mechanized limbs.

Through an involuntary partnership, average middle schooler Hikaru Amatsuga works alongside the Mecha-ude Arma, who is an extremely rare and special existence. To protect Arma, the resistance group ARMS assigns the dual Mecha-ude user Aki Murasame to follow him wherever he goes. However, she is also looking for a mysterious Snake-Type Mecha-ude wielder, who has put many of her comrades in a critical state.

Behind the scenes, an organization known as the Kagami Group is searching for the mythical "Trigger Arm," a Mecha-ude said to grant unlimited power. When Aki's life is threatened by this group, Hikaru must team up with Arma to find the courage to fight back and, along the way, learn that his life will never be ordinary again.

Awesome Wood Sculptures in Action...

HIDARI
THE STOP-MOTION SAMURAI FILM
After being betrayed by his peers and lost both his father and his right arm, legendary craftsman "Jingoro Hidari" is on a journey of revenge with his partner "Sleeping Cat" and his mechanical prosthetic arm. Finally, Jingoro faces one of his adversaries "Inumaru" in a fight to the death...

This is a pilot version of the stop-motion samurai film that tells the story of "Jingoro Hidari," a legendary Edo-era craftsman. All the characters are made by wood and animated frame by frame, just like how Jingoro's wooden sculptures came to life in his many anecdotes. We hope you enjoy this film, which mixes dynamic actions as seen in Japanimation, and the rich analog expressions of stop-motion animation.
Our intention is to use this pilot film as a starting point to create a full length feature film. We're currently running a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to gain support for our activities to find the necessary partners to go into production of the feature-length version. If you liked this video and would want to see more of it, we would be very grateful if you can support us on Kickstarter! http://bit.ly/hidari-kickstarter

BAÏDIR - The Animated Series

B A Ï D I R
Baïdir is an ecological space-opera animated series
It tells the initiatory path of a hero willing to do anything to locate his sister, and thus restore the family’s lost balance. It is also a story that echoes a much broader collective quest. At stake: restoring our planet’s lost environmental equilibrium.
Baïdir is a series designed to span three parts, each composed of 8 episodes of 26 minutes. The genre varies from adventure to science fiction with a good dash of fantasy.
Born from the imagination of Slimane Aniss, then enriched by the graphic universe spun by Charles Lefebvre and Thierry Rivière, Baïdir got its first teaser in 2009. Several years later, in 2012, the concept for the series was purchased by a first production studio. This resulted in a second teaser being hatched.
Then several years after that, Andarta Pictures managed to acquire the rights to the work. At long last, work could begin on building the narration and the universe, thus allowing it to take shape for the television screen.

Kenichi Sonoda's Kickstarter Anime: Project BB

BEAN BANDIT
Today at Anime Central, Kenichi Sonoda officially launches his Kickstarter Project: Bean Bandit.

very time I am invited to events in North America, I am always left with the memory that fans want a new Riding Bean and Gunsmith Cats. One day, my friend brought me a plan for crowdfunding anime. I realized then how fun it would be to make more extreme and more profound animated works just for the fans without being bound by the opinions of publishers and editors.

That is why I started this Kickstarter.

Our initial goal is to produce a five-minute animation. Should we receive more support, we are planning to make it longer. I would be truly happy if we gathered enough pledges to create a 20-minute anime with a slick original opening!

I also intend to prepare an art book featuring concept art, design, and a newly drawn original color comic if possible.

The animation, art book, and manga will be available in both Japanese and English. Additionally, the finished animation will be released on a Blu-ray disk at the highest quality.

'Mecha-Ude' Anime Kickstarter Project

Animator Sae Okamoto Launches
'Mecha-Ude' Anime Kickstarter Project
Campaign seeks US$25,000 to expand team to produce 25-minute anime short
[Source: AnimeNewsNetwork] Animator Sae Okamoto launched a Kickstarter campaign for an anime project titled Mecha-Ude (Mechanical Arms) on October 1. The project seeks to raise US$25,000 to build a bigger production team for the project, which will produce a 25-minute pilot episode. The campaign will end on November 5. As of press time, the campaign has raised US$21,005.

The project is streaming a teaser video, with a longer teaser movie "currently being prepared."

The campaign page describes the anime:
Hero was a high schooler living an ordinary life. One day, he meets a very strong and intelligent mechanical arm named “Mecha-ude”. After a strange turn of events, the “Mecha-ude” started living inside Hero's hoodie and the two's life full of trouble begins.
As the boy and his “Mecha-ude” fights together and strengthen their bonds, the two also meets new friends who also fights along with each of their own unique “Mecha-ude” partners.
Out of those, one of the heroine has two “Mecha-ude” which appears out of her skirt. An active girl with a totally opposite characteristics from hero himself, he gradually becomes attracted to her.
But the two are confronted with other “Mecha-ude” users who are in search of the secret of “Mecha-ude” relentlessly.
In this work, an anima-machine named “Mecha-ude” with self-awareness appears. Even though they look inorganic in nature, they all show or express their own feelings and opinions. They can feel angry, sad, and even encouraged to fight against enemies.
The project plans to finish the anime by December 2017.
Backer rewards include digital wallpapers, special images, digital and physical (Blu-ray Disc and DVD) copies of the anime, a box set that includes a mini-book and original soundtrack, hoodies, figures, an invitation to a private screening party, posters, and dinner with Okamoto.

Crowdfunded, alumni-filled Star Trek: Renegades

S T A R   T R E K :   R E N E G A D E S
It has been seven long years since Enterprise left the air, and though we’ve had the recent big screen adaptation of Gene Roddenberry’s futuristic vision (and the sequel coming next year), we feel the true home of Star Trek is as a continuing episodic series. The goal of this project is to make that happen. We, the team who brought you Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, are proud to announce Star Trek: Renegades, a professionally produced television pilot to be presented for a possible online series. Renegades, as the name suggests, will be bold, edgy and a little dark. Renegades will feature a combination of familiar Star Trek faces, plus a collection of hot, new rising actors.

The role of Captain Lexxa Singh will be played by Adrienne Wilkinson (Xena: Warrior Princess, Star Wars: The Clone Wars). The Renegades’ antagonist in the film, Borrada, will be played by Bruce A. Young (The Sentinel, NYPD Blue). Also currently in the cast are Walter Koenig (Chekov, Original Series), Tim Russ, Gary Graham (Alien Nation; Soval, Enterprise), Robert Picardo (the holodoctor, Voyager, Voyager), Sean Young (Blade Runner, Dune), Manu Intiraymi (Icheb, Voyager), Corin Nemec (Stargate SG-1, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgement Day), Courtney Peldon (Entourage, Home Improvement), Chasty Ballesteros (Final Destination 5, The Newsroom), Kevin Fry (Eraser, Sons of Anarchy), Larissa Gomes (Saw VI, Saw 3D), actress/stunt performer Tarah Paige (Make It or Break It, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Vic Mignogna (Dragonball Z, Star Trek Continues), Rico E. Anderson (Star Trek 2009, Dollhouse), Richard Herd (Admiral Paris, Voyager), Herbert Jefferson Jr (Battlestar Galactica) and many more!

Renegades will be a departure from previous Treks – delving into the dark side of the human psyche, pushing our heroes to their limits, forcing them to carry out actions that they never would have as Starfleet officers. The rules have changed, and they realize they might be the last hope to save the Federation. Star Trek: Renegades will be action oriented, filled with suspense and espionage; all while exploring new worlds, encountering both familiar and new alien species, and boldly going where no Trek has gone before.

Gerry Anderson's FIRESTORM thru Kickstarter

F I R E S T O R M
Although Gerry Anderson passed away back in 2012, interest in his properties endures healthily - a truth evidenced by this newly started, and so far highly promising, Kickstarter aimed towards revisiting an Anderson property called FIRESTORM.

FIRESTORM was adapted for a Japanese animated market back in 2003 - but is now being re-launched as a practical effects-driven “Marionation” piece akin to Anderson’s iconic THUNDERBIRDS.
HERE is a link to its Kickstarter page, where you can see several pieces of concept art, a teaser trailer/test reel, and learn more about macro-plans for the franchise.

Hullabaloo Steampunk Animated Indie Film

Former Disney artists keeping hand-drawn animation alive with new crowdfunded, steampunk indie film
[Source: blastr.com] It’s been a long time since a major studio put forward the time and money to make a hand-drawn film, so a team of former Disney and Dreamworks are taking it upon themselves to keep the unique visual style alive.

Dubbed Hullabaloo, the steampunk animated superhero story is the brainchild of creator James Lopez (The Lion King, The Emperor’s New Groove) and a veteran team of animators, modelers, composers and voice actors. Lopez is a Disney veteran who has also served stints at Warner Bros. and DreamWorks, so he definitely has the cred.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Hullabaloo is the story of Veronica Daring, a brilliant young scientist who returns home from an elite finishing school to find her father--the eccentric inventor Jonathan Daring--missing without a trace! The only clue left behind points Veronica toward Daring Adventures, an abandoned amusement park used by her father to test his fantastical steam-powered inventions. There she discovers a strange girl named Jules, a fellow inventor who agrees to help Veronica in locating her missing father and discovering the secrets of his work.
Together, Veronica and Jules learn that Jonathan Daring has been kidnapped by a mysterious group of influential persons, who seek to use his latest invention for nefarious purposes. These villains are wealthy and influential and neither Veronica nor Jules can stop them openly. But determined to save her father and holding true to the family creed that technology should be used for the good of all, not the greed of some, Veronica assumes the secret identity of “Hullabaloo”, a goggled crusader who uses wits and science to combat evil and oppose the nefarious conspiracy that has taken her father.
Lopez and his team are hoping to raise $80,000 on IndieGoGo to create a professional proof-of-concept short with hopes to eventually make a full-length animated film. But more than just trying to get a cool movie made, Lopez is championing the dying art of hand-drawn animation. It’s been five years since Disney put out a hand-drawn animated movie, and there don’t seem to be immediate plans to create any new ones in the foreseeable future. Enter Lopez.
We love the look of the concept art, and it’d be a crying shame if hand-drawn animation really does fade away in favor of CGI and 3D modeling. It’s an indelible component of film history, and if these guys think their little steampunk hero can save it, then godspeed.

Studio Trigger Crowdfunds Little Witch Academia 2

The Japanese animation studio Studio Trigger formally announced the sequel to its animated short Little Witch Academia by launching a crowdfunding project for it on Kickstarter. The original cartoon, which is currently streaming on Youtube and Crunchyroll, was one of four animated shorts created under the 2013 Anime Mirai project with Government funding as an initiative to foster the talents of up-and-coming animators. Credits for the tentatively-titled Little Witch Academia 2 confirm Yoh Yoshinari, Masahiko Otsuka and Naoko Tsutsumi returning as the director and character designer, scriptwriter and producer respectively.

Trigger had originally set a 20-minute runtime for the sequel and launched its crowdfunding project to raise $150,000 to increase the length by 15 minutes. At the time of this writing, the goal has already been more than achieved with a total of over $217,000. Studio Trigger has affirmed that it is considering stretch goals for the project.

Studio Trigger expects production on Little Witch Academia 2 to finish in the Winter of 2014. At this time, the studio plans to subtitle the cartoon in seven different languages and produce a Blu-ray release for April 2015.

In addition to staff biographies and preproduction artwork, the Kickstarter page for Little Witch Academia 2 offers this summary of the new project:

As a young girl, Akko was fascinated and mesmerized by Shiny Chariot’s magic show. Determined to become a witch just like Shiny Chariot, Akko enrolls in the prestigious witch academy, Luna Nova. Contrary to her expectations, the classes are unexpectedly boring. Akko struggles to keep herself in high hopes and spirits, but the reaction from her peers remain indifferent. In the previous episode, Akko became the school’s hero by slaying the dragon that appeared from the underground dungeon, but her fame is short-lived. The new episode will be a sequel with new characters to the previous episode.
